Title: Doesn't "wait for expansions" mean waiting for someone with half or more?
Post by: ToastSmith on 22 March 2020, 08:54:02 AM
Long story short, even though I have "wait for expansions" activated on my autoplay, I'm only getting paired with people that don't have any expansions at all. Has this been happening to anyone else? I thought it was because of the Menagerie update, but the issue has only been happening today. I played with a significant number of people with expansions for the past few days.

I ask because 1) I read on the forum that "wait for expansions" means waiting for someone who has purchased half or more of them, BUT 2) I also read that the "wait for expansions" function won't have any effect if you've already purchased expansions yourself. So, which is it? I only have Seaside and Nocturne expansions (because of promo codes), so I definitely don't have half or more of the expansions. Up until today I was ALWAYS paired with people that had expansions during autoplay, but today the only expansions that have shown up are my own (Seaside, Nocturne, and Base) because I'm getting paired with people that don't have expansions.

So anyway, is there a way to go back to being paired with people that DO have expansions? Do I have to cancel my Seaside and Nocturne subscription? Has anyone else been having this problem? Why is it happening only today? Can anyone FIX this problem? If only 2% is milk, what's the other 98%?

I'm just a lowly freeloader, so I don't necessarily demand that I get paired with those who have paid for expansions, but it would be nice to know what happened to make the pairing change.

That definitely sounds like a bug. The code dealing with that may be a bit shaky, because now there are several ways for players to have expansions and not having the corresponding subscription.

I'll pass this on.

To make sure, please look into your automatch settings and verify that after "Expansions" it says "Wait for expansions", not "Prefer expansions".

Stef will change the underlying measure to check if a player has "enough" of expansions. It may take a day or  two, simply because at the moment there are serious lag issues that need to be addressed (many people being home due to Corona virus).

Thanks for the report (I forgot that in my first replay)!
