It seems like every time there is an update to the game software, there are bugs when using it on safari on ipad. I would request that the programmers check for bugs on ipad os.
The current problem of the chat not working during the game seems to be a general mobile problem, not specific to iOS.
Nevertheless you are right that testing new releases on mobile, both Android and iOS, has been sporadic at best and now it caught up with us twice in a row :-[
