Card Bugs / Ferryman and Gladiator
01 March 2024, 03:10:45 AM
Ferryman is in the kingdom, and Gladiator/Fortune is the chosen card for Ferryman. If someone plays a Gladiator and the opponent doesn't reveal the card, Gladiator says to trash a Gladiator from the supply -- Gladiator is not in the supply in this case but one is still trashed if it's on top of the pile, even though by the game rules this should fail. This is a bug right?

I would say you don't even need to abide by those rules. Your opponent knowing your hand only matters in edge cases and as of several years ago I think the social contract for all online games is such that you don't need to explicitly ask permission to stream ladder games.

I think if someone specifically asked you not to stream/upload you should honor that but I wouldn't go so far as to ask permission.

Card Bugs / Innovation+Circle of Witches
16 June 2023, 05:50:06 PM
I'm pretty sure this is a bug? Game #124944197

I have Innovation and one Favor token. I play a Replace, which gains a Sycophant. There should be two on-gain triggers for Sycophant: get two favors, play it with Innovation -- I am not presented with a choice, but instead I am given the two favors after I'm done playing the Sycophant, which is after the trigger for Circle of Witches, so I can't give out a Curse now.

I couldn't find anything in any FAQ or rules docs about this, but I thought the timing of Innovation and Sycophant's on-gain effects would be the same (when I gained the Sycophant) so I should get the choice to get the Favors first.

Once my opponent starts taking cards off their Crypt I shouldn't know what's there, but if I hover over their set-aside area I'm able to see some face-up cards. I'm not even sure if they're the right cards. In either case I should be seeing face-down cards on my opponent's Crypt like I do for stuff like Archive.

Card Bugs / Re: Draw issue with Avoid/Tireless?

Man that's a bizarre ruling and I hate it, but that's what the ruling is so I guess the bug is in the game and not in Shuffleit  :'(

Card Bugs / Draw issue with Avoid/Tireless?
19 March 2023, 05:09:20 PM
Game 119390798, turn 9/10. I played a Tireless Governor that turn and also got an Avoid, I end my buy phase, the Tireless Governor gets set aside, then the Avoid triggers and I choose three cards to put into my discard pile. There are four cards left in my deck at this point. I draw them, but the for some reason another shuffle doesn't get triggered, the Tireless Governor goes on top of my deck, and I start my next turn (turn 10) with only four cards in hand. I don't know where the problem is but I've checked thoroughly for something else that would cause this and I'm not seeing it. I'm pretty sure there's a bug and my guess is that it's with the Avoid code.

You are correct, the number miscount on the travelers is due to the many buy phases you had.

For the choice of what picture to use to represent the exchange, I agree that it was something to get used to at first. The ideal solution might be showing clearly what you potentially give up and what you would get. If that can be done in one picture I don't know.

Mostly I think showing you what you potentially get makes more sense, because if you click on that button, that is what you are getting, and that is what you should be the most important part of the decision. But I see the counter argument that you want to keep you Warriors and Disciples and focus on that, instead of "not wanting" Hero or Teacher.

Maybe I wasn't clear -- what's in the picture isn't the important thing to me. I think the text should show both card names regardless of which picture is shown. I feel like there's no reason not to have both card names in text.

Game 118187319, end of the last turn of the game. I had two Soldiers and a Disciple in play on the last turn when I piled out Villas, but when the interface came up asking me if I wanted to exchange for 18 Fugitives and 9 Teachers (screenshot attached). Seems like the fact that I bought 9 Villas had 9 buy phases on that turn and the values are multiplied by 9 should make it easy to isolate in the code where the problem is, though I didn't test what would happen if I tried to click on one of them.

Unrelated, but I should mention here that I was very confused by this interface when I saw it. Instead of a button that just shows you the card you're exchanging into, I think it would be clearer if the button showed the card you're giving up by exchanging. Better still would be if the text said something like "Peasant -> Soldier" where the image could be whatever.

Card Bugs / Re: Foray doesn't work
28 December 2022, 03:07:16 AM
ugh I can't believe I'm one of those people that doesn't know what the card is supposed to do and then blames the software.

OTOH I think the wording of the card is unclear. Would it have killed them to add "from your hand" to the card? I can see I'm not the only one confused by this. But alas, this is not shuffleit's fault.

I played a Capital during my buy phase so I have six debt. I have $3 in actual money remaining and I also have 3 Coffers. When I click on "end buys" I am able to pay off debt, but the default amount of debt I can pay off is 6, not 3. I should be 3. I'm not sure but I thought it used to be 3.

Card Bugs / Foray doesn't work

113687489 on tokyo, end of my turn 12. I draw my deck, I buy three differently named cards, then get a Foray. Nothing happens.

A buys and gains a Plunder.
A buys and gains a Leprechaun.
A gets 1 VP from Collection.
A buys and gains a Copper.
A buys a Foray.
A ends their buy phase.

Those other cards should be changed too. I think the reason it hasn't been brought up (at least by me) is because I never actually see that yellow X for any of the other cards. Once I've selected something the game can continue. I'm only noticing it on Mapmaker because I have to select more than one thing that isn't being discarded.

I also don't understand why this justification is necessary. The interface is confusing and just because it hasn't been complained about until now doesn't mean it is OK the way it is. If it is a problem the just fix it, I don't see the point in asking me to justify why I'm only bringing it up now.

Interface Issues / When Student is the Liaison
20 December 2022, 06:15:54 PM
When I right click on an Ally, normally it also shows me the Liaison card(s) that go with it. That's cool. But when Student is the Liaison the display is kind of weird.

Right, so if this is the way you really want to do it, then the cards you select shouldn't have a yellow X on them. Just change the X to something else.

Interface Issues / Mapmaker interface makes no sense
20 December 2022, 02:25:56 AM
When I play a Mapmaker, four cards come up for me to look at. I'm supposed to put two into my hand and discard the rest, and the prompt says to click on two cards to put in hand.

However, when I click on a card to put in hand a big yellow X comes up over the card. This is what it looks like when I discard a card using anything else in Dominion. It looked to me like those would be the discarded cards, so I was surprised when they ended up in my hand.

Whenever there's a reveal window that shows me multiple cards and I'm supposed to discard some of them, the ones I click on are always the discarded ones and there's always a big yellow X over them. Why is Mapmaker different? I assume it's because the wording on the card directs you to put two into hand and discard the rest (which is a different wording than most of these other cards) but even if you're dead set on clicking on two cards to put into hand (which I don't think is a good idea because it's different than everything else) you definitely need to not have a big yellow X over cards that are not being discarded.
