Support / Re: Game Reset

Heh.  The user was a 54+ rating, and was losing to me (49-50).  Probably didn't like it, and used my ignorance to reset the game to the beginning.

Game # 139446996

User asked for an undo, I allowed it, and the game reset to the beginning.  The user seemed to expect it, and I was winning handily at the time.

Not sure what happened, whether it was somehow deliberate or not.

I agree, but the number of times I've received derogatory comments in the last month made me curious what others on this forum thought.

General Discussion / 3 Pile Win

Once in awhile, I receive negative feedback when I win with a 3 pile elimination.  Someone even blacklisted me the other day, which I had a good laugh about.

I was wondering what people's opinions were.  As far as I'm concerned, it's as legit as a victory point win.

General Discussion / Re: Players drawing out turns

The last time I encountered a "slow roller", I told the user I was playing on a tablet.  I was moving to the living room and queuing up a movie on Netflix.  "Bud, the movie is 2 hours long.  Take all the time you need.  I'll have the tablet in my lap"

He quit after about 10 minutes.

The only problem with a reporting system is that abusive players would constantly be reporting the non-abusive players, just to be jerks.

The system they have in play actually works quite well.  If you're abusive to people, they'll simply blacklist you and you won't be playing them again.  Get blacklisted often enough, and the only people you'll be playing with is other abusive folks, or nobody at all.

Feature Requests / Re: Option to mute the chat

I agree.  It would be a great feature to add.

I would hope that it would continue as a two player game.  Otherwise, the player who resigns can effectively determine which of the other players is going to win.

Personally, I'm satisfied with the blacklisting system.  The only issue I have is with truly toxic comments.  Some folks just can't be good sports and blasklisting means I don't have to play them again.  However, I'm sure there are people that enjoy the trash talk, or simply don't care.  My desire to not play against certain people again, for whatever reason, may not be true for someone else.

Thanks!  I didn't know that.

I'd still like to see them on the table though.

Is there a way to see whether you or an opponent has a card on their mat or sticking around for next turn?

Without keeping track in the log, I have no idea whether one of us has a Lighthouse, Merchant Ship, Caravan etc. available for next turn.

If it's a feature I'm missing, could someone please instruct me how to see it?  Otherwise I'd like to add this to the list of Feature Requests.  A little mini card icon on the left side would be great.

Thanks!

I also agree with those above.  I used to relax after dinner in my easy chair, a cup of coffee, and my iPad.  I'd read the news and play Dominion.  Now I just read the news because Dominion on the tablet is almost unplayable.  I know an iOS client is planned, but I'm disappointed that it wasn't ready at launch.  Aside from the beautiful artwork and the addition of Empires, the whole experience is a very large step backwards.

The only thing I want to add to the comments above is that when you're pushing forward with design changes, the entire flow of play should NOT require the log.  I rarely, if ever used the log with MF's implementation.  The only time I did was if I forgot who started first and I wanted to push a tie.  The visual interface was good enough that I didn't need a log, and on a small iPad screen that's exactly what's needed.

I wish the designers well and hope there will be positive changes in the coming year.  I miss my after dinner games of Dominion.
