I know that undoing the Play All Treasures button does not need confirmation from the other player. Not sure if there are any other situations.

Goons / Highway / Forum / Trader is an actually infinite point combo. Play 5 highways and then Goons with Trader in your hand. Buy a Forum (that now costs zero) and react with Trader, gaining a silver, a point, and getting your buy back, but not lowering the Forum pile. This continues to work and give points even when the silver pile empties. Repeat buying Forum and reacting Trader until you die of starvation.

It's not unfair for someone to lose if their internet goes down. There are huge swathes of online games where if you get disconnected for 10 seconds you are thrown out of the game with a loss and no chance of a reconnect.

Everyone's internet occasionally hiccups, it's unfortunate but think about the experience of their opponent who has to sit around for 5 minutes waiting. It's not fair on them. If my internet died when playing Dominion I'd feel terrible in the knowledge that my opponent is forced to wait for ages so they can start having fun again. I want them to move on to the next match swiftly in my absence.

Hot take: If someone has atrocious internet that dies for a minute every 20 minutes, then maybe they shouldn't be trying to use it to play online games.

General Discussion / Re: Trolls

DominionTroll, it astounds me that you think you deserve to be treated with respect despite your obnoxious in-game behaviour merely because you try to act polite when other people are watching. I challenge you to go to a real-life board game meetup and behave the way you do in-game and then try to drop these same justifications against them, that acting horrible is OK because "it's just a strategy". You never will of course, because you only behave this way in private when you think you can get away with it. You are not a shining beacon amongst a sea of foul-mouthed banshees, you're a two-faced hypocrite. Your attempt to claim the moral high-ground is absurd.

Your paper-thin attempts to claim that your behaviour is acceptable because it's "just a strategy to win the game" is merely a refusal to accept the consequences of your actions. You are only lying to yourself. You try to justify it to yourself by telling yourself that it's OK because it's in pursuit of a more noble goal, winning the game. That the ends justify the means. But they do not. The fact that you say you have occasionally felt bad about is telling. It's why you jump through so many hoops to try and pass off your behaviour as being for a greater cause. Because if you had to actually face up to the consequences of what you are doing you wouldn't be able to handle it.

The separation between in-game and out-of-game behaviour is not a large as you think, it's actually non-existent. There are not two different societies here, the same people occupy both worlds.

Our communities are defined by the worst things that we permit to happen. What we allow tells the world who we are.

Online Dominion for some bizarre reason seems to have long been plagued by a small number of people who seem to enjoy trolling like crazy, even before this particular site. I don't get it. Anybody who sets out to make other users of the site feel bad or angry during their games by consistently trash talking strangers should be banned. It's not a "strategy", you're just trying to excuse the dopamine rush you get by being an antisocial asshole in the place where what you say has no permanent public record.

Fugitive is not in the supply so cannot be gained by regular methods.

General Discussion / Re: Game End Log
« on: 23 August 2017, 08:11:49 AM »
From another thread:
I agree that it would be better to have both, and it also could/should be easier to access previous games, or that at least it would be very nice to have all that.

The reason for removing the log from end of game now is a bit technical; the information on the end-of-game screen was a mix between information from the gameserver and information from the metaserver. Now that you're only connected to one, it was easier to present information from only the metaserver. Off course that could be solved by sending the gamelog from game->meta->client, and it will probably work that way in some future release.

If I recall correctly, I remember reading somewhere before the launch of this online client either Donald or Stef saying that part of the contract was that any new expansion needs to be rolled out at the same time as the physical release.

So implementing the new expansion likely takes priority over all else.

1) Sound when you have to act or it's your turn.
2) Better awareness of Swamp Hag, Haunted Woods and Enchantress being active.
3) Visual representation of -card and -coin tokens.

If you don't want the complete leaderboard in the client, what about showing those in the positions next to you? Like the 5-10 above and 5-10 below, or whatever works best.

I'm surprised many people seem to think saying gg counts as being douchy. I try to say it after every game because I thought it was considered polite. Also because at the end of every game my browser freezes for a short while while it reveals all of the log details I try to say it just before I end the game otherwise people tend to leave before I get to say anything or respond to their gg and I figured not being seen to say anything made me look rude.

Should I not be doing this?

This happened to me on game #2242028 on frankfurt, but with $7p and coin tokens, buying a province.

Another data point I guess.

Other Bugs / Another faulty undo
« on: 18 March 2017, 10:01:54 PM »
Game #2022126 on tokyo.

This is another example of that weird undo issue where I request an undo then never see anything happen, and if I refresh the game has gone back really far and is unresponsive.

1) Cards automatically marked as familiar when seen so that we can stop playing mostly vanilla games.
2) Inheritance.

While the message that there is a new version and you need to clear your cache is helpful, going forward is there not some way browsers can do this automatically? Note: I am not a web developer and understand nothing about caching.
