Well, this is my answer: it's not about gaming options, it's about pricing.
As you mentioned, we all thought this is a one-time payment for a wonderful game. MF didn't make such a bad job. We bought a base and some expansions. You bought it, you got it, you played with it.
I don't even need adventures, bots and the whole rest of the features, I just want to play my favourite game online. This is not a product that has to be developed on going. Just build it up and keep it running ;)
Suddenly, somebody had the idea to change this well-working platform into a sad recurring payment non-sense stuff. I think, this will not work. Not for this pricing model anyway. I would agree to pay 50 bucks for a lifetime option or MAYBE 10 bucks for a year, but not 50 bucks every year. I decided to get out of this and I even think, this will not work the way you intended. But maybe, I am wrong...
P.S. No need to think about spending me a half-year free gaming period. I won't use it. I am done.
