I just found this bug as well. Confirmed with the bot in game #26471319.

I plaied MTG for years and I felt very rarely that I was just lucky/unlucky at drawing.

Aside from the rest of your post, this comparison with MTG made the least amount of sense. MTG is extremely luck-based. Tons of games are won and lost based on not drawing the right lands / being mana-screwed. The mulligan mechanism is extremely limited by design, and just having to mulligan at all is a huge disadvantage.

I get disliking luck in a game, but if you like MTG, then I don't see how you can criticize Dominion. Your entire post reads like "I am upset that I lost some games due to luck".

On doing some more testing, I may have mis-diagnosed the problem.

What may actually be happening is this: specifically to bot games, my ear is expecting a sound to play indicating that it is my turn, but the sound does not play.

Contrary to what I thought, it doesn't seem that reloading makes it play again. So, it may just be that bot games do not have this sound. I thought they used to have it, but I may be wrong.

Lately (approximately since the start of Renaissance previews), when I start a game there is often no sound, as if the tab were muted.

When this happens, I can reload the page (ctrl+R) and this causes the sound to return.

I am using Google Chrome 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Ubuntu Linux 16.04.
