It's not, so don't worry. All this talk is a load of nonsense.

Please explain.  I thought it was kind of weird when the website said I could purchase a subscription for a year and then it would only let me purchase for 6 months.  Now I read this and now that makes sense.  I will still enjoy playing this for the next 6 months but I won't offer any more feature requests.

I don't know everything that's going to happen, but this was posted in Discord today:

"StefToday at 11:54 AM
I just signed a new contract with RGG!
dominion.games will continue in 2020 and 2021."

It's possible that ShuffleIT didn't want to let people subscribe past 2019 until they officially signed a contract ensuring it would last past 2019.

On my final turn, I played my only Band of Misfits as Embargo. At the end of the game, the log claims I still have my Band of Misfits, and I have -1 Embargoes.

If it's not too late I'm in.

(I was thinking that I wouldn't have time, but I think I will.)

vs Polk

Use Gear to stack up Capitals to hit $14 for Dominate, then pay off the debt later. Jfrisch suggested Fool's Gold as an option instead of Silver, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Teacher tricks with Dungeon to upgrade Peasant quickly. I get ahead with early $5, give up part of my lead by having weird turns, and then lose the lead when I dud for a turn. Polk gets a pileout where he wins by 1 VP while gaining 10 Curses.

7460882
Kind of a weird board, turned into an Overlord powered engine. I get an early Province which interacts in a hard way: it gets topdecked by Rabble which is bad, but it makes Chariot Race activate more often, and lets you play Overlord as Explorer to gain Gold to hand. Having 6 Overlords to 4 and a cleaner deck let me build enough advantage to win.

7463426
Tax + City Quarter + Cultist with Moneylender to get rid of Coppers. Game comes down to who gets their City Quarter to go off and who doesn't. Polk does some nice things with Taxman.

7464097
Explosive game with trashing, Menagerie, Villa, and Horn of Plenty. Move to buy phase, play duplicate treasures, buy or gain Villa, play activated Menagerie, and repeat. I have a complicated win on my 2nd to last turn, but miss it. I miscount, then win anyway because Polk had a dud turn.

7464596
Goons game with Haunted Woods for draw, plus Chapel and Wandering Minstrel. Polk opens a bit better and gets a great draw, I never catch up.

2017 Championship (archived) / Re: Signups Q&A

Because 3rd is 150 and 4th is 50, you need to play a consolation match before the finals to figure out 3rd/4th. Any reason it's not just 100/100?

Game #949336 on oregon. 5 player game with Mountebank, to explain how this happened in the first place.

I played a Butcher, trashing a Curse when all Curses and Coppers were gone.  I believe I should have the option of paying 0 coin tokens, and failing to gain anything. Instead I was forced to spend 2 coin tokens to gain an Estate. I didn't have an option to try to gain a Copper or Curse from the empty piles.

By more transparent customer service, I meant making it more clear that work is being done. Of course it's obvious that work is being done, but when people are angry it's easy for them to forget that work is being done on problems they don't personally have.

I'm not interested in seeing involvement in meta debates because I agree that's not particularly useful, especially when people are re-iterating the same points. I'm more interested in seeing posts like the one you just made. "Here's a problem that was affecting our users, we rolled out a fix without disrupting everything, we added language support, when the fires aren't as big we'll work on the remaining cards." I know there's a releases thread listing a changelog, but not that many people are going to click from the game through the forum link all the way to that thread. If you have bandwidth I'd consider thinking about ways to make those changes more visible.

It seems the developers are willing to communicate with their customers on the discord channel. That requires an account to even view, doesn't it? These forums are publicly viewable. If you're going to take the time to communicate with your customers, it seems smart to make that available to view publicly.
I also hear that they're going to a pub each Wednesday where sometimes they talk about things vaguely related to their company. I demand a live stream immediately!

Come on that's just blatantly silly.

I hope this is obvious to people, but:

  • Making fun of a point doesn't stop it from being a point.
  • Setting up a strawman and knocking it down doesn't address their point.
  • Disapproving of the way someone's making a point doesn't address their point either. (But on occasion it lets you decide whose point is worth addressing.)

Personally I don't care about Stash or Inheritance that much, because of all the shiny Empires cards, but they do need to be in the game at some point. It should be obvious to everybody that they're working on it. I do wish there was more transparent customer service / addressing of complaints but it's tricky to do this well when there are a ton of things to do. See Pokemon Go launch for an example of this.

I ran into this issue today, bumping this.

I joined a table Geronimoo was hosting right before he started the game. He didn't realize he wasn't playing against a bot until I took my turn, and I ended up resigning because he wasn't looking to play against a human.

Adding a "ready" button that all players have to click before the game starts would help. (This wasn't an issue in the MF client because you had to add bots manually, but I like the current setting of adding a bot automatically, and would like that to stay.)
