This isn't rocket science folks.   Stopping trolls isn't that hard.   One simple fix would be to
require SMS verification for an account.  If the person trolls, then ban them by phone #.   All the major services are doing this now and it works.

SMS verification sounds like a good idea but there are plenty ways to get around it. Plenty!!

As someone who spectated numerous games of mine and has been at tables with me expressing that I dislike hand hiding and me having asked you before to unhide your hand this seems quite frankly ridiculous.

I am gonna assume here that you are not talking about me because I have no idea about your likes/dislikes. May be you were referring to Lemonspawn's comment?
Regarding hand hiding, I appreciate all the top players who have graciously agreed to open up thr hands for spectators. I would consider myself an average player at best and watching these games has been a fantastic experience. I learnt a lot from the games that I have spectated (if thats a word). But when I joined Dominion I didnt even know that this spectating can be such an enriching experience. I initially hid my hand because I didnt want anyone to see how I am playing. Now that I think about it, it is a poor attitude and I am fine with keeping my hands open. But I absolutely do not agree to give permission to discuss hand strategies while we are in middle of the game (rated or otherwise), and hoping that players will follow the basic etiquette.
Freaky, the implication regarding multiple accounts (crude) was because of your abrupt blow out with that parting message, as it was not very clear to me. Not everyone has been on discord or online dominion for months/years. Some people are very new and still learning the basics.

Why is hiding ones hand bad? Onto the Blacklist Freaky!

I guess it is bad because they cannot see what your hand looks like (through alt account or discord-friend support) and then fume out when lose to low rating player. That would be the best guess and possible explanation  :) Otherwise it is quite a silly thing to throw a fit about.

A player named Freaky joined, and then another player crude joined. So freaky lost and this was the parting message. Attaching the snapshot. Is it like this player uses multiple accounts to watch opponent hands? Playing in a league I understand showing ur hand, but in a regular rated game, is it mandatory etiquette to show your hand?

Joining game #33143550 on frankfurt.
Freaky:  Why are you hiding your hand again?
Freaky:  Back to blacklist it is
jackDozen:  sory?

PS: The other player crude has to be him correct? Else how can he know I am hiding my hand.

Darn! Sounds like a really disturbed/miserable human being...

One user, who is in top 10, has played merely 59 games to reach level 64. This is quite an insane accomplishment I'd say. Is there a document that provides how the rating system really works? I thought it was based on relative level, that is, if I beat someone who has lower rating, I do get some points but not as much as someone with lower rating will get if they beat me. So to achieve level 64 in 59 games, you must have played with top players and won almost all of those games, isnt it? Just curious!

PS: Wish this was working

General Discussion / Random number generation biased?
05 November 2019, 06:45:52 AM
I am new to the platform (well couple of months new). I was playing a game with an opponent (I wont name him/her because I would like the discussion to be logical than to shame someone). This opponent insisted that the shuffles of dominion are biased. Well i thought it was pretty absurd at first because I couldnt figure out the motive that why developers would do that. Just to make a game more interesting? Dont know. And come to think of it, even if it is biased, favor action cards more in shuffles vs victory vs treasure, for two opponents in a particular game, the shuffles would still be random for them (anyone can get anything). But in some cases it can make the game more favored towards someone who bought an action first vs treasure. Anyway, listing pros and cons of biased shuffles would be moot if they are truly random, which I like to believe that they are. Any developers here who can comment on this?

I am confused but may be you can help clarify this. If I buy a subscription and pay some amount (lets say monthly for now) and one of the moderator blocks me for being out of the line, even though I can create another account yes, but wouldnt I lose the initial amount I paid for my sub?

so currently I am too stuck with this player in the same game (#31298057)
I am little confused as to why the mods here are not taking these complaints seriously? Is it because he paid for the cards? Because if a player has a paid subscription, ideally he should be afraid to pull up nonsense like this, but lack of moderation do make them more confident that what they are doing is okay. I have joined online platform 2 months ago and I wanted to get a feel of the game before committing financially, and I dont think its an entitlement from a paid user to ask to take swift action against such players. Is it?

General Discussion / Dominion mandatory etiquette?
08 September 2019, 04:57:05 AM
I am quite new to this site (~2-3 weeks old). Initially what I saw with the games was that when people win or lose, most of the times they move on to new games (clicking Ready), or leave..Sometimes they say gg, and sometimes they leave without saying anything.. More than 90% of the times people leave without saying anything.
So I was playing this game with this user called roovado something. We played the first game where he won. I left the game and started to search for new one. No specific reason, just that I like to find new opponents and sets. I was paired with him again. This time I won and as usual I left the game and started searching for new opponent.
I was paired with him again, and he starts abusing. Saying f*k you and all to leave quietly and then joining the queue for new game. He goes on to say that he is blacklisting me.
I dont quite understand this rage. Is there a mandatory dominion etiquette that I am not aware of?
