You can already kind of do the no-attacks thing by using your Familiar Cards settings (mark all attacks as unfamiliar and check the box "respect familiar cards" in the table settings).

As for the others, the game designer, Donald X, has expressed opposition to allowing most of these sorts of house rules on the website. While it's a bit frustrating, the devs have made it clear that they won't do anything without Donald X's blessing.

Feature Requests / Re: 4 requests
30 April 2020, 06:06:25 PM
Request 4 already kind of exists. You can reload an old game if you have the Game ID saved. The one potential issue is that the random seed is the same, and so you'll have the exact same opening splits and early shuffles each time you play. If you keep or obtain a comma-separated list of cards in the kingdom you can copy-and-paste it into the "Select Kingdom Cards" box.

As josh said, Request 2 has been vetoed by Donald X, the game designer

Request 3 has also been vetoed by Donald X, I'd say more forcefully than for 2

Request 1 makes total sense and I don't think I'd use it personally but should definitely be an option.

There's also the possibility that they assume closing the tab will accomplish the same thing as a resignation. If they're not being sarcastic, then that strikes me as the most likely explanation.

Yeah, I'm definitely guilty of this myself sometimes.

I think the main reason people do it is because it's fun to see numbers turn into bigger numbers. Sometimes there's an element of showing off as well. I usually don't mind it when my opponent does it. After all, usually I find it's just buying a duchy and an estate in addition to the last province or something. That doesn't take up that much time, and I don't want to begrudge anyone their oppurtunity to get those last few points.

That being said, it's perfectly reasonable that you find this annoying. It's certainly annoying if, say, they three-pile midturn but then they keep on playing a complicated deck to buy 3 provinces instead of just 1. In those cases I usually resign. I can see how even the duchy-estate thing could get on some people's nerves. I'm just not super bothered by it myself.

Oh, oops. My bad. Just ignore that paragraph then.

Firstly, I think it's strange that you are referring to them as a "Villain". It puts a negative light on them before you've even described anything. Something like "opponent" is neutral and more accurate. Throughout this post you make loaded statements and questions.

Secondly, you speak of your "very strong engine" that can generate 3+ provinces a turn. This is a strange statement to make, especially seeing as your opponent has just made $30 and 4 buys. That sounds like a pretty strong deck to me (after all, it can gain 4 provinces!). At any rate, the quality of your two decks is completely irrelevant to the discussion. By including this statement, it makes you sound as though you just think you're better than them.

I would both grant and ask for this undo in a heartbeat. If you actually stop to think about what they want to undo, they want to keep a single gold in their hand to enhance it. They're still planning on buying 3 provinces, they just want to keep a card in hand. There is no information gained from this undo, which is the criterion that most undo-deniers seem to use. It seems highly likely that they just clicked Autoplay treasures. It's happened to me plenty of times where I meant to keep a card in hand but my brain just went on autopilot and clicked "autoplay treasures". In those cases I don't always catch the mistake immediately since I'm trying to not be unbearably slow.

The experience of Dominion is, in my opinion, improved by the ability to undo. In addition to misclicks, allowing undos for straightforward things such as this lets people play the game at a faster pace, without having to painstakingly stop for every card to just to make abosolutely sure that there's no reason they'd ever regret it. If you spectate high level play, you'll see that undos are almost always granted and there's basically never a fuss about it.

This whole anti-undo philosophy really gets on my nerves. People act as though it somehow detracts from the game or makes it less fun or pure or something, and it always seems to come from a perspective of the people asking for undos somehow being weaker or less deserving. People make mistakes, that's why undos exist. Letting your opponent undo a few simple things is just a nice thing to do, and denying it isn't going to make you a better person.

This is not strictly speaking true; if you buy Inheritance, you can gain estates from the trash with Lurker.

This is also a moot point because of some already-established infinite loops, such as:

Hand is Storyteller, Monument, Rogue, Watchtower. There is a Mandarin in the trash and you've bought Capitalism.
Play the Storyteller, and as a part of that play the Monument and then the Rogue. Gain the Mandarin with Rogue, topdecking the Storyteller, Monument, and Rogue, but react with Watchtower, trashing the Mandarin again. Storyteller then continues resolving and draws 4 cards, putting you back with the same hand as before (+1 bonus card) but with 1 VP. Repeat until you get bored.
