Feature Requests / Re: Block/report

How about this:  Whenever you blacklist someone, you get a popup asking why, and you select either:
  - Personal preference
  - Abusive behavior

So, if, for instance, someone plays slower than you like (but is not a slowroller) or refuses all undo requests, or any other reason that is not ban-able, you chose the first option and the mods do not need to take action, they only need to look at those blacklisted for abusive behavior.

General Discussion / Possession in Black Market?
22 March 2018, 11:54:29 PM
I just played a BM game, in which Possession appeared in the black market for my opponent.  Fortunately, he didn't buy it, but it struck me as odd, since Possession is still listed as a banned card.  Does that not apply to the BM deck?

RGG did not drop MF in order to give the license to ShuffleIt.  RGG dropped MF because the contract with, and performance of, MF was not satisfactory to RGG.  ShuffleIt won the license based on a prototype build they submitted after the decision to drop MF was made.  So, ShuffleIt really does not have any obligation to MF customers, but gave a free year anyway.

We've been through this many times already, but I'll go ahead and say it again.  SHuffleIt is a DIFFERENT product than Goko/MF.  Yes, they are based on the same physical game, but legally what ShuffleIt offers is not what you paid for.  Basically, there are two alternatives here.  One, Goko/MF could just have gone away and left nothing at all for on-line play, or two, RGG could give the license to another company so that there would be online dominion.  Jay chose the latter, and I'm glad he did.  However it may feel to you, ShuffleIt doesn't owe you anything. IF you don't want to pay, fine, that's your choice, and you can always play the base set and promos for free, but going on the forum of the company that makes the game and asking for a pirated version is pretty brazenly trollish behavior.

I tend to lose by trying to force an engine where there isn't a good one and the bot can win with a money strategy.  if engine is good, I tend to win handily.

This should be taken up in a PM to the mods, not on the open forum.

Also, you can just resign and blacklist.  The game will not count against your rating once he is banned.

And I think that it is rude and impolite to resign at all. If we are playing in person, face to face, I can understand it, but not only. Games online are short and if someone is loosing with a lot and can not catch up, that means that the game will finish in the next couple of rounds.

So what is the point to resign? To move on? I love Dominion and even when I am loosing, I want to give the deserved respect for the winner and wait until he finish the game.

I feel just the opposite.  In person I would rarely resign, since setup takes a significant chunk of time and resigning feels like a waste of that time.  Online setup (and tear down) is instant, so I'm fine with resigning and moving on.  In fact, if I am clearly going to win, I'd rather my opponent resigns than taking extra time to play it out.

Also, I see face to face as very much a social activity, and resigning seems contrary to the social dynamic I like in FTF, whereas online is more of a competitive environment and resigning to start the next game is fine in that environment (IMHO).

Also, if you are clearly in a winning position, it may not be correct to think of it as a rage quit.  I often resign if I have no realistic chance, not out of anger, but just so that I can move on.

General Discussion / Re: Pile sizes & positioning

In general on my screen, the card images are very small with lots of blank space around them.  I prefer larger card images.  Is there a way to change this?

I was able to click the card I wanted, barely, but it could easily cause a misclick.

Playing lurker, there was a card in trash I did not want to gain, and it displayed directly over the card I wanted to trash.

Specifically, you can play Bots using all cards.  Non-subscribers can only use base cards and promos against the Bot.

Some people on here do actually play fast and they prefer to play other people that play fast...This is casual play, so I see nothing wrong with asking someone to play faster...My 2 cents.

Couldn't disagree more. Asking someone to play faster is in effect complaining about how they are playing. People don't play Dominion to be complained about (except for trolls). A superior response would be to ask "Is this your normal pace of play?" Then if they reply "Yes, why?" you could respond "No problem, I just prefer to play at a faster pace.", then blacklist them after the game. This way you'd be simply stating a personal preference instead of complaining. Asking someone to play faster (or slower, just the same) is bad sportsmanship, period.

JKRich is correct.  The "play faster" message by nature communicates annoyance and creates an emotionally hostile environment.
