On the old Making Fun site, there were campaigns, which were a great way to see all the cards, in various combinations.  Here, you'll have to create the decks, which is a tiny bit of extra work.  But you will be able to create exactly the deck, with the specific cards you want to learn, which was not possible at MF in the past.

If I remember correctly, there is supposed to be a campaign mode later on.

Is there a way to see something like the endgame screen during the game? With landmarks like Keep and Wolf Den it would be very useful.

I hope not. It would remove one important aspect from the game. However, I fear that some day someone will build a plugin to do exactly that...

There really needs to be a way to chat with your friends in the game without being at the same table. It would make this workaround actually viable.

If I understood it correctly, there is not need for the chat because it would be a workaround and would get changed anyhow. Or was it the reason they don't want a global chat?

Ratings systems serve multiple purposes. First, it allows one to determine how good they are at something (relative to others, and relative to oneself). When not playing with friends (i.e. as a social activity), the competitive aspect is the persistent thread throughout the games, keeping it from falling into "casual game" territory (obviously lots of people like casual games, granted).

Second, it provides a means to match users of similar skill. The rating system on Goko (or whatever it wound up being called) was the reason I stopped using the site (as I recall, it was wildly inaccurate, in part due to falling automatically without logging in -- a bizarre mechanic from anything but a pay-to-win perspective).

Third, it provides motivation not to abandon games or otherwise waste someone else's time. For problem users, it also means there's a form of penalty that doesn't require restricting access to the game.

As there isn't a score, rating, or ranking system, people frequently leave games (sometimes on purpose, without actually resigning, as an abusive user just did after complaining about luck and whatnot throughout the game), and I find the games to get kind of mindless. Call me a millennial, I guess (I think I make the cutoff to be called that...).

Agree wholeheartedly with this. I'm quite surprised that there is still no ranking system. I assumed it would be there at launch.

That maybe because Stef don't weight is as important as some (me included) do. He wrote somewhere something about it.

I see your problem and want to do something about it, but I don't think disabling the resign button is a step in the right direction.

Allowing you to continue against an AI seems like a much better idea, that would also solve your problem?

I only said disabling it during opponents' turns. As I said, it was like that on Isotripic and no-one ever thought it was a problem.

I never played on Isotropic, so I cannot judge that.
I rarely resign, however, when the opponent is clearly winning and not playing his turn, I do resign. When he is chaining his actions, I don't care. Waiting when the opponent is not there is something else.

Top 1: make the money played "en block" (i.e. not one at a time if I click on play all). It is really really annoying!

I don't think this is possible or accurate according to the rules of the game, For example, if I have a Sauna or two in play, my Silvers have to be played one at a time.

Agreed, in that case it would be stupid to play all money, but so is playing coppers before the first silver. It could at least be changed to all money at the same time if they don't have any side effects. That would be accurate and should be possible too.

2) Sound when I have to do something. Maybe different depending on reaction or start of turn.
3) Better visuals: duration, buy, etc. Shorten the log to the essential. I don't need to know every small step of my opponent.
3) Blacklist

Please don't say "us."  That implies that you speak for the entire dominion playing community.[...]vocal minority assume [...]

Us only implies me plus at least one other person. Since my wife has the same oppinion, which personal pronoun should I use? And tell me good sir, why do you assume that I am a minority? Aren't you doing exactly what you say "annoys" you?

I think most people who want sound would agree that the priority should have been on the important game action sounds (turn notification/province/gold).

I agree. Is it really that hard to implement?!

I tried it. I tried to get used to it. I don't liked it. Please change it!

Why do you want to make it harder for us (and thus for yourself)?

It will probably be a long time until the offline version is ready. I wouldn't hold my breath that it will be in 2017*.

I think a notification by email will be sent.

*) this is not meant to be harsh. I know that it is a lot of work and they are just 2 persons.

General Discussion / Offline client question
02 February 2017, 07:09:29 PM
I have been thinking about the offline client for some time now and I wonder if there will be updates (esp. bug fixes) for it. I don't mean to be disrespectful, however, there will be bugs, since every software has them. Some will probably only be discovered later on after release. Will they be fixed?

Hey, we are all human beings, and most of them want to chat and to socialize beyond the pure game as part of a living community – please don't expect that all players here are only acting like dumb parkometers – what a terrible world !!

I think there are two kind of players here: the hardcore players who only want to play and win and the casual player (like me) who want to enjoy the play. The former won't mind the resign because they achieved their goal (winning). The later however...

I first played Dominion only in the Brettspielwelt and there - as a general rule - is no resign button. As being used to no resign I don't really like it if my opponent resigns without a word (no greeting is strange too...).

Undo is fantastic.

It doesn't hinder me when I don't need it, but when I do, I'm sooo glad it's there.

Except if you opponent is using it a lot.

That should really help though:

It will be better for you once "Undo until new info revealed" is not necessary to confirm by opponent.

Feature Requests / Undo choice
09 January 2017, 12:47:31 PM
I admit that I hate the undo feature and this for four reasons:
- I am not used to undo things: life does not have an undo function
- It kills the flow of the game
- I am not shown how many steps are to be undone
- Is it too much to ask to be careful while clicking? I played about 30 games here and never had the need to undo.

Mostly for these reasons I never accept an undo request. Furthermore, constantly having to justify why I refuse is cumbersome.

If you must have this feature, please add at least the option to choose if undo is allowed and an auto decline.
