With the upcoming roll out of Nocturne and the year rapidly coming to an end, I'm left wondering what to do.  It's been no secret that my preference has been for AI, Offline, and Campaign play so I'm one of those who have been waiting for an offline client.  Granted I don't mind playing online and have periodically topped up my subscription to include Empires.  I will do the same again when Nocturne rolls out, but before I decide how long to extend my subscription I'm looking back at the Top Priorities list of 2017 and wondering if ShuffleIt's license will be extended or not.

Here's my look at the top priorities of 2017... Comments are completely my own based on my experiences with the game.  I have no knowledge of which of these the ShuffleIt Team considers complete, still planned, or scrapped.


  • Finished - Add retrievable gamelogs, rating, leaderboard
  • Stash still outstanding - Finish implementing cards
  • Started? - Improving AI
  • Still Planned? - Adding Campaigns
  • Finished - Adding German, Russian and Japanese support
  • Not complete - Card animations: animating all card moves
  • Finished? - Expanding on friend list
  • Still Planned? - Create an IOS and Android app
  • Started? - Adding features for Kingdom selection, e.g. to help new players learn cards gradually
  • There was a tournament... I don't think there are any features to support it though - Adding tournament support
  • Started? - Further improvements on AI
  • Still Planned? - Offline client
  • What does this one mean? Smart timing rules
  • Started? - Autoplay features
  • Started? - Add logsearch

Would love official communication, but will accept any speculation or rumors based on information not generally available.

Thanks Stef,

Knowing that makes a big difference.  Even just this kind of quick update helps.  I'd argue you need not only another developer though, but a communications/marketing person.  Who knows maybe somebody within your own community would consider doing that second job for something like a free subscription.  It's not in my wheelhouse so don't consider this self promotion by any means. 

Their job would be communicating with the community the latest updates/developments with the company.  Making the forums a fun place to be.  Looking for ways to engage the community, etc...  For a small company it doesn't have to be all glitz and glamour and advertising, but certainly that might be a part of it, depending on your track.

Speaking of news.  It would be nice if there was a news section right in game.  This becomes more important as you move into app development for ios and Android.  I personally dislike games that make me hunt for the latest information on what the company is doing, or take me out of the app and launch me into a web browser.  If I wanted to go that route I could just search it out myself.  I'm lazy.... I want to see in-game that there are things going on and that a game isn't stagnant.  When this first launched I was much more engaged in the forums, but with the lack of updates I've mostly stopped looking.

Anyhow, appreciate your quick response and good luck finding the right people for the jobs!  I'm hoping we'll have more game updates soon.

News?  Once again communication has dwindled on what is being worked on and what is coming when.... There was a short period where it felt like communication was improving, but now we're June and there seems to be only minor bug fixes coming out, no news provided except (no we are not working on apps) and no significant changes in some time.  You can do better than this.

Aside from everything I stated for March (<begin rant> of which I think are still outstanding, which perhaps tells me that I do not jive with the designers since they are asking for more input despite the fact that there is a large list of things in March, and in the actual already set out feature list that have not been developed to really be asking for more things to develop.... <end rant>)

- stats.... How many games have I played... win/loss ratio.... win/loss ration per player, etc...

I'll add to this that it is also an easy way to validate the scoring.  Without a complete breakdown of what's in your deck there is no simple way to confirm scoring of specialty cards.  To me this should have been in at day 1, but now I'm just being a grumpy complainer :P

Very Slow and laggy play tonight.

Any insight into this?  Checked my internet speed and it's specific to Dominion.

Edit:  I should note both of my last games were on tokyo

I think you hit the nail on the head here.  Not in this game, but in another I saw the same behaviour you did with Estates being formatted for Inheritance, before I bought it. 

In this game, towards the end I too could see Lord Rat generating a large number of

Estate loses track of Estate (it was covered up).
Estate loses track of Estate (it moved).


In addition to that I also saw something about Followers losing track as well.

Unfortunately this is another game where attempting to load it I get an "Internal Error".  Are any games loading properly?  I don't think I've successfully loaded one since this latest release.  Do we need another thread for this issue?

Playing Lord Rat.
I chose Page for Inheritance.
Exchanged Estate(Page) for Treasure Hunter
Lord Rat Bought Estate
Now appears in his discard pile as an Estate(Page) as seen in attachment

As subject states Inherited Travelers do not appear as Estates, but as the card they have inherited from (Pages and Peasants) so they cannot be identified for whether to exchange or keep properly.  Since Exchanging them means returning an Estate this may not always be the preferred action.

Should be easy enough to confirm by loading the game, but when I try to do this I get: "Internal Error".  The error isn't very helpful for understanding why the game cannot be loaded and means that I, at least, cannot confirm the game state.  Do others have problems loading this game number or is it just me?

I'm not 100% sure on this, but in Game 2517077 it seems the Vineyard did not count the Inherited Estates.  Since there is no final deck composition presented in the end game screen there is no way to confirm this, but I believe my deck contained more than 12 action cards when the estates were added in.

According to the wiki the pile is only considered a Victory-Castle pile due to the randomizer being used to determine the pile type:

One Kingdom Card pile in Empires has 8 different cards - the Castles. They behave similarly to the other split piles; only the top card can be bought or gained, they go in order by cost with Humble Castle on top, and so on. This pile is treated as a Victory - Castle pile, as per the Randomizer, despite the top card being a Treasure - Victory - Castle. In 2-player games, use one of each Castle; with more players, use all 12 cards.

The problem I see now is the longer it stays this way the less likely it will be changed because people will get used to it.   If they do change it there will probably be people who complain about it then.
