AI bugs / Re: Disciple + Fugitive
01 November 2017, 07:16:36 PM
Kier,
I do not think your explanation is correct.  (Or, more accurately, it should not be correct, based on the card's wording.)  There are cards out there that do specify that a card must be from the supply, in order for effect to occur.  But Disciple deliberately did not put that limiting writing in . . . it says only "...Action card..."  And, given the absence of any limiting words; the commonsense meaning, using English grammar, is that it applies to ANY action card.

I could see an exception (even with the current wording) if you play a card from Black Market, since--by definition--there is only 1 card of that type in the entire game.  If you have no additional cards of that type left in the game, obviously, no one can gain extra copies in any way.  But there are plenty of "spare" Fugitives in a game, so the clear wording of the card suggests that I should get an extra copy.

If your explanation ends up being correct after all; then the wording on the card should be changed.  Maybe adding at the end "...if played card is from the supply, then gain an additional copy" or something like that.

It's either a bug, or it very poor/inaccurate wording on Disciple.

Game 8293139, Turn 13

I played Disciple and then Fugitive.  Game played Fug. twice, as expected.  But according to the game log, I never gained the extra copy of Fugitive.

Bug?  Some other reason why I did not get that 3rd Fugitive?

Interface Issues / Re: The Scales of Justice

Off-topic, but . . .
"Scales of Justice" would be a great name for a Dominion card.  (If X is in your hand, or if X has happened on this turn, then there is ___ effect.  If X is not in your hand, or if X has not happened on this turn, the there is ____ effect.")

Update:

In the next game with Ghost, it AGAIN selected Fool the first time.  But, after that, Ghost selected other Action cards.  So, maybe that first game was just an aberration.

AI bugs / Is Ghost selection (of Action card) random??
25 October 2017, 09:40:17 PM
Game: 8083775

Played a game with Lord Rat.  The first time I played Ghost, it selected Fool, which was--by this time--worthless.  Okay, there were about 6 action cards in my deck at that time, so there was a one in six chance of that happening.

But, second time I played Ghost, it also selected Fool.  That's a 1-in-36 chance, if random.  The third time I played Ghost, it again selected Fool.  That is more than 200:1 against happening by chance (216 to 1, to be exact).  [Game ended before being able to play Ghost a 4th time.)

Am I misunderstanding how Ghost plays?  Is the rule:  Once a card is randomly selected on the first play of Ghost, that same card will always be selected in subsequent Ghost plays?  If so, what happens if the "selected" card, later, is trashed?  (As I--vainly--tried to do in my game, once Fool came up the first time.)

Or was this just a really really (really really really) random game?

Or . . . some other explanation I'm not thinking of?  :-)

AI bugs / error message at end of Nocturne game
25 October 2017, 09:35:52 AM
Was testing out the new cards in a game with Lord Rat.

Game ended with me having 12 or 13 coins.  Got the last Prov, and I bought a Cemetery with the remainder.  This caused the game to hiccup.  Screen went black and I got a popup box saying, "Your client is too old.  Please Ctr/Cmd-reload the page . . ."

This was about the 4th straight game I had played.  So, no reason why I would suddenly get a "too old" message; I just feel it has something to do with buying a Cemetery last, or, buying a Cemetery after the last Prov.

Is this a known bug?  (Unfortunately, I don't bother to write down--in advance--the ID numbers for 'bot games.)

Mic,
Thanks.  That seems pretty clear.

JW,
Thanks.  That is several steps shorter.

One of the new cards is Shepherd.  It gives straightforward information about what it does.

But at the bottom it also says "(Heirloom: Pasture)"

What does this mean???

I've noticed, yesterday, that at least one or two other Nocturne cards have the same or similar parenthetical information.  So, information on all of these would be helpful.  :-)

General Discussion / Re: Dominion: Nocturne
24 October 2017, 09:03:55 PM
[Cross-posted in the "How to Play" section]

Right now, it's a complicated series of steps to play a bot game that includes the Nocturne cards.

What I am doing:
1.  At matching page, click on "Nocturne Preview," to select this option.  Then click on bot game.  Game will start with Lord Rat, of course.  But no Nocturne cards are ever included at this point.
2.  Immediately resign.
3.  Resignation takes you to the start page (ie, if you hit Ready, you'll start a new game with Lord Rat.)  On this page, on the left side, is the message: "Nocturne Preview: False"
4.  Click on "Edit Table"
5.  At new page; click on "Advanced Options"
6.  Again click on Nocturne Preview, to select it.
7.  Click on "Ready"

This takes you to a bot game, and there now will be Nocturne cards.  But there really should be an easier way, right??   :(

Card Bugs / Re: Overlord played as WineMerchant
15 October 2017, 12:59:09 AM
I guess this is true for its interaction with all reserve cards, yes?

It would be helpful for there to be some sort of popup warning if you use a card in combo with another card that will trash/make inactive the first card, for the rest of the game.  Obviously no way to put all that info on the card itself.

If there were such a warning popup, I am sure you'd also include an option of turning the popup off, so that more experienced players would be able to configure their system so that they could skip that extra step of closing down the popup window.

Support / Re: How do I report a player?

Ing,
Never mind...the second time I tried the same steps, it brought up the already-played game (but subbing in my name and Lord Rat's name).  But it did let me see all the original moves, which is what I wanted.

Odd that it did not work the first time.  What a weird bug.

You can load a game as follows (fast):

- Go to "New Table", then press the "Load Old Game" button.
- Enter the game number, e.g. 7438244 (don't use the #), press "Load Game"
- Press the "Add Bot" button until it vanishes (to make sure that this new game has the same number of players as the game to be loaded)
- Press the "Ready" button (down below) and the game will load

Additional things:
- To make sure that you see the game from the postion of the player you are interested in, press the "Player Order" button. Normally this is set to "Random", if you remove that checkbox, you get a list of current players on the left, in my case it would be "Ingix" for myself and "Lord Rattington" for the bot. On the right is the list of players of the original game. Use the up and down buttons to align as you require.

- Once you have loaded the game, there will also be a decision number, in this case 322. The game is made of decisions by both players, and apparently 322 of them were made in this game. The game clients defaults to load at the end of the game. If you want to load the game at an earlier time, just edit the *left* decision number, then press "Load Game" (now the *right* number should change to what you have just edited the left number to). If you want to start the game , press "Ready". For example, if you load at decision 0 you are at the start of the game.

Ing.,
Thanks for the help.  But it does not work.

I can load the game.  But it only lets me play the game (in this case, against Lord Rat).  I do not want that . . . I want to see the game that was played already.  I cannot deselect myself and select the two original players.  (I can, following your directions to use the up/down arrows, change the order between me and Lord Rat).  But since I cannot select the original players, once I hit 'load game' and then "ready," it just brings up the original deck and let's me play that game from the beginning.

I must be missing an important step.

Losers' Bracket / Re: Losers' Bracket Round 2 Signups
06 October 2017, 01:03:35 AM
I had already signed up a few weeks ago.  But I gather that you'd like us to sign up again, for specifically the second round entry (since we lost in the main event in the second round).  Right??  :-)
