On my replay I could do it.

What I have seen fail is that the Lurker doesn't open the trash window, so the choice to gain from the trash isn't visible. I'm not sure what the reason is, I assume that is what happened to you. In that case, you have to open the trash window manually and the select the Action card you want to gain.

The ruling AFAIK is that once a draw (or similar) effect triggers a shuffle, that's it. If you don't have enough cards in your deck after the shuffle to satisfy the draw effect, then it ends with those cards in your deck drawn.

Before you could manipulate the shuffle to 'leave cards out' (Order of Masons, Avoid, one other I think) it was clear that if you don't have enough cards to satisfy the draw effect, you had to stop, there were simply no other cards to draw from any reasonable place.

Now you actively can avoid drawing all cards the effect prescribes using the mechanism you described.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean with "saved card lists".

There is no way to make a list of cards and then make bot games that have kingdoms that consist of random cards from this list.

There is also no way to "store" kingdoms you've played or designed and then "load" them from within dominion.games.

The latter option can be realised somewhat because the game allows text input for kingdom selection. In the picture below I created a kingdom with some cards, by selecting them one by one in the "My Table" tab (red). The kingdom is represented in text form below the picture (blue):



You can select and then copy that text with your mouse like you can any other text in a webpage. If you store it yourself on your device, you can then later paste it into the following text box, allowing you to replay that kingdom:



So you can save and store kingdoms, but you must "provide" the storage space for yourself.

A built in way to allow players to gradually practice with more and more complicated abilities is the card pool level. Card Pool level 1 is the base set only, level 10 is all existing cards, and in between it introduces cards based on the kind of effects they have. There are cards in each expansion that are mechanically simple, so they might be easier to learn than some of the cards from earlier expansions (like Duration cards).

When 2E Prosperity was released, some cards where removed from it, some added.

Among the removed cards was Goon.

It no longer appears by random server selection, which means it no longer appears in automatches on the ladder. If you want to play with it, you need to manually select it into a game on your table using the kingdom selection screen. All the removed cards from all expansions which got a 2E version in 2022 can be found in the "Depreciated" set (the tombstone, marked below):

No, there isn't. This error message is in 95% of cases (low estimate) an intermittend problem that seems to have their cause somewhere in the net infrastructure between you and the server. It doesn't effect everyone or even most players. 

It usually goes away after some hours (which is frustrating), but normally without the player doing anything (though testing on another device or another browser never hurts). In the very few remaining cases it really is the server that has a problem, but that usually means a high volume of error reports here and on discord.

You can only gain a card that is at that time on top of a pile. In your situation, there were 3 Elders on top, so even after gaining one there is still no Miller on top of any pile.

I used your game as a basis for another, where there was 1 Miller at the top, and 1 Elder underneath (game 119210478 at the end). Here you can see that you can gain Bazaar, Miller and Elder.

Note that the order of clicking is important here. Since the Miller is currently on top in the pile, you must choose (click on) Miller before Elder. If you do it the other way around, you will only gain the Miller (+ Bazaar).

At the time you played Capital City, you already had generated $2 (= 2 coins) or more (say from playing Militia or some other Action cards that give you coins earlier that turn). That means you can spend those 2 coins and draw 2 cards and then go on with your turn.

Your friend however did not have $2 at that time. That means the option to spend $2 was not initially available to them, so it isn't shown. Once they discarded 2 cards for the other option, they did have the $2, so the option was shown to them.

On the card, after giving you +1 Card and +2 Actions, you have 2 independent parts that are both optional. You may first discard 2 cards to get +$2. Afterwards (if you did that or not), you may spend $2 to get +2 Cards.

So formally you would have to decide, after getting +1 Card and +2 Actions, if you want to use the "discard 2 cards to get +$2" effect. Only once you made that decisions and executed the effect if you chose to, would you decide upon using the "spend $2 to get +2 Cards" effect.

In order to remove unnecessary clicks in the game, the user interface presents you with all the options you can actually do at the time. So if you have 2 or more cards in hand, it will show the "Discard 2 for +$2" button,  if you have $2 or more coins already, it will show the "$2 for +2 Cards" button.

The understanding is that the player can then choose the first option they actually want to use, without being bogged down by explicite questions if to use this or that option. All the currently available options are shown, then (if chosen) the option is executed, then again all available options are shown (which may be different now),

The option to ban/dislike cards is limited to a few (16), not comparable to the 500+ cards existing and the 26 cards that are depreciated.

Of course things have been added, but there were big changes to areas as well. There was an ongoing story arc in Warcraft (from previous games) and then in a new expansion some areas where markedly different because ithas just been the place of a brutal war. Why do you think Donald X. made the decision to rework those expansions, taking cards out and putting new ones in? They already exist, and could have been reprinted when supply ran out as has been done in the past. But with years of experience coming afterwards, he tried to make the game better, to remove duds and also cards that turned out maybe to powerful or centralizing.

Games change over time, and since dominion.games is a reflection of the IRL game, it changes with it. And the decision to have the depreciated cards not appear in automatch was because it is supposed to make the game bettter, by removing some cards that the game's creater did no longer want in the game.

And again, nobody is taking those cards away from you, you can play with, in your own tables, as much as you want.

I can see your point. But note that Dominion Online is not an independent game, its an implementation of a paper card game that expanded (Allies and Plunder) and evolved (2E Seaside, 2E Prosperity, 2E Hinterlands) in the last 12-14 month. The second editions removed/replaced cards that were deemed not good or unfun by the creator.

The depreceated cards are not gone, they are still available to be played with. Dominion Online has generally tried to not fragment the player base in automatch too much. That means a distinction between players wanting to automatch only with the "latest" cards, and those wanting to include the depreciated cards (or even further selection which depreciated cards) seems unlikely to me.

This is an online game. Online games change over time. Wold of Warcraft has changed so much that now there is a classic version that puts it back into the state it was at (or shortly after) it went live. Many things have changed for Dominion Online. Some of them I don't like.

It's in the nature of change that some don't tangent you, while others have a big impact. If some of your favourite cards are now not usable during automatch, then that is a big impact. If you decide not to renew the subscription, I can understand that. Some players like not encountering the depreciated cards during automatch, its different for you.

At the moment I do not see a change coming that would restore the functionality you want.

1) They are not going to show up in automatch, and there is nothing you can do to change that.

2) If you make a table, by default they will also not show up.

3) If you want to play with one of those cards, click the "Select Kingdom Cards" button (marked red), then select the depreciated cards "set" (marked blue), then choose directly which card you want to include in your kingdom.

That is usually a temporary condition, where something between you and the server is not working, but which is usually not your PC/router and not on the server. Unfortunately the only advise I can give is to try CTRL-Shift-R on the page (I think Cmd-Shift-R on a Mac) to force a hard reload of everything.
