It's caused by Chrome using hardware accelleration from your graphics card. Apparently on some graphics cards there is a bug somewhere with this result.

What can you do:

1) Nothing, wait until the folks at Google fix the bug. This has happened in the past with other bugs as well.

2) Turn off hardware accelleration for the graphics card in Chrome. A step to step guide can be found at this website. I can understand that it may feel intimidating, so only do that if you are comfortable with that.

3) Use a not Chrome based browser, like Firefox, to play Dominion until the bug in Chrome is fixed. Since you are using Windows 10, you can also try Microsoft Edge.

This looks to be the "Spinning Castle" problem:

You need to open a private(Firefox) or incognito (Chrome) window , go to dominion.games, enter your Name and Password, but don't click "Login". Instead, click on "Kick and Resign" (rightmost of 3 buttons below the login data area). Then you should be able to login normally (no need for private/incognito tab).

Thanks for the bug report! You can still get "Ready" by clicking on your readyness indicator (the circle that is empty for you but green for the bots which are ready).

Das ist neu und so beabsichtigt. Spieler haben das alte System ausgenutzt, um immer wieder gewertete Spiele mit genau oder fast demselben Königreich an ihren Tischen zu spielen. Ihre Gegner waren dann natürlich stark benachteilt, weil das Königreich für sie neu war. Dadurch haben die Spieler sehr hohe, ungerechtfertigte Spielstärken ausgewiesen bekommen. Deshalb ist nun ein Spiel ungewertet, wenn schon 1 Karte vorher festgelegt wurde, oder mit mehr als 2 Querkarten gespielt wird.


ENGLISH: That is new and by design. People abused the option to have rated games with completely or mostly preset kingdoms, to always play the same kingdoms when waiting on a table for unsuspecting victims. Of course, knowing the kingdom, the predominently won and got very high, undeserved ratings. So now if you preselect any card, or play with more than 2 landscape cards, the game will be automatically unrated.

Usually that means the connection between you and the server that takes your login data is broken at the moment. That's why it persists across browsers. But I've asked if there may be a more special reason right now.

Unfortunately, it's a formally 1-person operation with volunteers to help out.

What happened, was the system down over the European night?

I play a lot on my Android phone, but that seems to be a nightmare now (and the screen goes black when I finish a game.

At end of game the game loads the end-of-game screen, including some pictures. This takes a bit of time the first time it happens, so that explains the black screen in the mean time.
