This is a bug indeed and will likely be fixed later today.
Thanks, markus.

General Discussion / Release bug?
18 September 2017, 05:54:18 PM
Today when I right-click on a card I get the "Save page as/View background image/..." box (in addition to the card image), where this was not happening before. Actually I get this box right-clicking anywhere on the page. I'm using Firefox. HTH

General Discussion / Re: Spectators?

a lot of ppl spectate better players to learn, or stream in spectating mode.
Just curious WR81-- what do you mean by "a lot of ppl"? Are there any stats out there on how many people spectate? And what is the difference between spectating and streaming in spectating mode, since you seem to differentiate the two? TIA

[edit: I think it should be in the middle bar during your turn... and the lower left corner during their turn]
Let me offer a supplementary opinion. I think having "Waiting for ..." take up the 2nd line of the info box during their turn is a waste of available space that could be much better used. My suggestion would be during your turn, have actions/buys/$/coin tokens/debt/other tokens (HW,-$1,-1 card, etc.) on line 1 , with the current messages on line 2, while on others' turns have their username first letter(s): actions/buys/$/coin tokens/debt/other tokens on line 1 and on line 2 have your username first letter(s): coin tokens/debt/other tokens/indicators of reserve & duration cards (this could just be a tan/orange card-shaped icon) be the default, to be replaced by action messages (such as "Discard down to 3 cards" when Militia is played) when needed. "Waiting for..." could be used as filler when none of these things are present.

I'm sure others will offer helpful additional tweaks. but I clearly think the info box can and should eventually be used much better than it is now, and head in the direction of offering more helpful information.

I've never had any connection problems in the past. Now, after the new release I can't connect at all (W10, Firefox 54.0.1) and only get the "Server connection was closed or could not be established." message. I even restarted my computer. No luck. Please help.

EDIT: I can now connect again. I'll still be a little concerned until I see the problem doesn't recur, but for now it's all good.

Card Bugs / Library/Gear Bug
28 June 2017, 06:50:44 PM
It's hard for me to imagine that every bug hasn't been found and reported on by now, but I'm pretty sure I've found a new one. Game#4752009/Oregon turn#20 (and 22) - I set aside cards with(under!) Gear, later played Library and set aside more cards, but at the end of the turn the program didn't seem to distinguish between the two and discarded all the set aside cards and at the start of the next turn displayed Gear, but as if no cards were set aside with it.

P.S. For any newbie reading this, I checked the Card Bugs forum before posting this to see if it had been posted on before -- a good idea to keep from posting a "new bug" that's already been mentioned many times before. ;)

Other Bugs / Re: Disappearing tables

I appreciate the thoughtful response, Stef. I'm sure that dealing with "We made things better for some people, great." then "Oh, no, now we've made them worse for others." must be frustrating at times.

If you only play against bots, you can simply start the new game before you leave.
New info - I tried this, starting a game before I left to pick up my car from the shop, and when I got back the game screen was weirdly partially replaced by the login screen, then fully replaced when I clicked somewhere, and then when I clicked to re-login I got the ongoing spinning castle until I clicked to reconnect and resign, which took me back to the main entry screen where I would have to start over again.

Excellent point. Starting a new game (even if I'm not sure if/when I'll play it) is a viable workaround, thanks.
I was wrong - not a workaround at all. I sure hope this a mistake and not intentional programming. Again, I wish to be able to save a table format so I can recreate it less. This is just the opposite.

Other Bugs / Disappearing tables
16 June 2017, 06:24:33 PM
I like to set up customized bot games so I can play the way I like (I prefer 3p Colony games), so whenever I log in I go to "Create Table" and set up my game. I wish there was a "Save Table" option so I wouldn't have to keep recreating the table every day I play, but instead things have gone the opposite direction. Today, after I finish a game, if I go away for a few minutes and come back to the end screen and click "Ready" to start another game I get a dialog box "This command requires a table". I get the same thing if I click "Edit Table", which takes me to "My Table" and still shows the details of my set-up table, then click "Ready". Is the table being timed out/abandoned after only a few minutes? For me that would be absolutely terrible and maybe even send me away. Please at least restore things to how they were yesterday. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe there should be a strategy section here. I hate having to register for so many forums.
I certainly sympathize with that. I saw your post soon after you made it, and had seen someone once make a similar post and basically get the reply "we don't do that here" so I thought I'd save you the wait. Also, f.ds (how forum.dominionstrategy.com gets abbreviated) existed long before shuffleit and has spanned several online implementations and has years worth of knowledge. Still, your point about fewer forums being better is well taken.

Hi. There's another website where strategy is discussed: forum.dominionstrategy.com. In particular your question is addressed here: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=16603.msg658971#msg658971.

How to Play / Re: Dominion Online Unofficial FAQ
26 April 2017, 06:36:15 AM
Could not agree with you more AdamH. My idea was solely motivated by what appears to be the real vs. the ideal. There should've been a help/FAQ/how it works section of the website on January 1, in no small part because
Quote from: AdamH on 21 March 2017, 02:48:38 AMthe software desperately needs something user-friendly to help first-time players understand what's happening.
But the developers appear to have a blind spot on this issue, which shows no signs of abating. So if there's going to be a user-developed FAQ I thought I'd share an idea that might help. Still, I totally agree with you.

How to Play / Re: Dominion Online Unofficial FAQ

Don't know if this is feasible or not but let me throw out this idea: is it possible to move the FAQ to a wiki page on w.ds and have the client link to it there? That way anyone can update it when a new release hits and all the burden wouldn't be on Chris.

AI bugs / Re: Bot will not even start the game
25 April 2017, 03:36:56 PM
It's not just happening to you. Check out my "Hanging with Lord Rat" thread here:

http://forum.shuffleit.nl/index.php?topic=1732.msg6257#msg6257

They haven't fixed it yet - it still happens, but only occasionally. Closing the tab then reopening gets you back into the game, working correctly.
