This is a really nitpicky criticism, if I'm gonna be honest with you. Stef and the developers haven't been pretending to not be doing any work, or whatever you're implying - maybe that was your preconception? They talk about doing work, if you ask you can learn they're working, they have a Discord channel, etc etc.

So far, whenever they talk about features loudly, well in advance, they get an endless stream of criticism of why it's not all there yet. If they hold off on formally announcing features until they exist, they get this criticism from you about how dare they add features without previously notifying everyone / you. There's no way they can win here.

I've been generally satisfied with my Dominion Online experience. It's hard to remember just how much better things have gotten, so I watched a few videos from MF dominion to compare. Decisions are much faster, misclicks aren't fatal, in general the game experience is tailored toward a fast competitive experience. For my use case, I'm largely happy.

These missing features are the most important to me:

1. Full kingdom view - I really, really like being able to read all of the text of all of the cards at once. It's much easier to see if the kingdom has +Buy if you can scan the whole board for the words "+1 Buy", for example. I also think this would make the game more accessible to new players, who currently need to scan each card one by one. Anyhow I really miss this and wish it was back.

2. A log you can access / download after a match without needing to reload a game. While loading games is fantastic, I often just want to share the results who a friend or read over a few turns quickly.

3. Better mobile support - honestly I don't necessarily need an app, I just want the online client to display decently on my phone, and to hide the address bar on iPhone / iPad (this is possibly a simple fix, actually).

The rest of the features on your list are mostly nice to haves rather than strong needs for me, though better visualization of set aside piles would be nice for a lot of reasons, and I would like there to be some sort of tutorial to show friends and new users.

If you need any more feedback from me let me know

How to Play / Re: Dominion Online Unofficial FAQ
25 April 2017, 02:27:46 AM
At the very least in the meantime, I'll update this in the next two days - I have a flight on Wednesday which should give me plenty of time to flesh this out. Sorry about the slowness in doing that.

First I want to start off by saying I agree that Butcher should have the interface to do this if you want to, eventually. But this is different than Crown and thus doesn't need to be a real priority at all.

Crown's case isn't an example of something that literally never matters implemented because it is technically possible - the Crown case absolutely can matter in a game with the +Card token. So it has to be possible because, literally, right now, you can play a game where you have to do that.

Right now, the case of using Butcher instead of the Buy phase as your mechanism for spending all the Coin tokens literally never matters - it's currently not possible to play a turn without any Buy phase whatsoever (even if you can't buy cards), so you will always have an opportunity in a Possessed turn to do what you are suggesting. So it isn't a thing that immediately needs to be fixed.

Crown still should be fixed by the way with that "action phase / buy phase" button or warning - we just clearly need the Action phase thing to be possible, because it is actually possible for it to matter in games playable right now, unlike this Butcher thing.

Interface Issues / Re: "Crown" Logic

Other edge case: you want to lower the cost of Peddlers by 2. I guess you have to play it as a action to do that.

You do not, actually. The card isn't played "as an Action" or "as a Treasure" - no matter which phase it is, it counts as an Action card in play for Peddler. The card is always both types, it just takes an Action to play it if you play it in the Action phase.

As far as I can tell, the one edge case is the card token. The interface should at least warn you if you play Crown during the Action phase with no other Actions in hand. You need to be ABLE to do this somehow, and I am having trouble understanding a way to make it the other way. Really it should ask "Action phase" or "Buy phase" in this one edge case.

Card Bugs / Re: Charm/Port interaction seems off...
05 January 2017, 05:10:18 PM
Both effects happen at the same time, so you click one of the blue words to pick which one to do first. If you click GAIN BY NAME you gain another Port before gaining due to the Charm effect. If you click Charm you gain a differently named card costing $4 before you gain another Port. When buttons aren't on the screen you click the blue text in the log to trigger the effects prompted.
