Game #587628 on oregon. See attached image. I think the culprit is Bridge, but I'm not sure?

Also, is "Traveller" the correct spelling? Two els, not one?

I'd like to see a solution similar to how Chrome handles closing/resizing many tabs. If you're closing a bunch of tabs (from leftmost to rightmost), it will wait to resize the tabs until you move your mouse away from the tab bar. This way, your click target doesn't keep shifting around as you close tabs....

This will make it easy to play a string of cantrips without worrying that you'll click the wrong thing. It'll also prevent the issue with a card moving due to a start-of-the-turn draw like Caravan.

This would be very nice, indeed.

edit (because this is driving me insane):

as it is now you: (click end actions) (click crown) (click copper)
*what you want: (click crown) (click play as treasure) (click copper)

Is this really what this whole thread is about?

Cheeky, but no. What the thread suggested is that the interface does not intuitively lead many users to (click end actions) (click crown) (click copper) when you want to play crown as a Treasure for a variety of fixable reasons. Instead it leads people to repeatedly (click crown) (click copper) (be confused) (ask for undo) (maybe be granted undo) (click end actions) (click crown) (click copper) (be annoyed).

Furthermore, improvements in the interface were suggested which may lead to visual improvements, other button placements, and different button combinations to get Crown to do what the user intends it to do more intuitively.

But implementing those cards has got to be a bottom priority. Features that make games better are much more important than a bunch of cards that (usually) make games worse.

Exactly. It's nice to think they can be programmed up at a later date relatively easily as nostalgic promo cards or rewards or something, but this has got to be last on the list of things to do.

The idea of starting to resolve a card without knowing what phase it is is Bad.

This is what I was trying to get across. Thanks for saying it better.

Having different symbols would be great.

Also agreed.

It only becomes obvious what's happening once you actually click on one of the cards. Just because a system can be figured out and used mistake-free doesn't mean that it shouldn't have been designed better in the first place.

This.

Personally I dislike the x for everything.  A big x for trashing I understand, but an x to choose a card from the discard pile to put in your hand or an x to choose a card to top deck feels just wrong.

Agreed.

I have mentioned this in another thread earlier in the beta, but I think this problem with Crown highlights an additional problem that it's not always clear when you are in the Action phase and when you are in the Buy phase and when you are in the Cleanup phase. This can be solved with some modifications to the UI.

This problem with Crown is also slightly at odds with the very careful implementation of trashing, discarding, etc., so it's not clear why there shouldn't be an extra confirmation to play Crown as an Action when there are no other actions to double.

(I agree with Adam that my preferred method to solving the Crown issue is to double the treasure if it's the next card played except in the token edge case.)

You are not being used as a beta tester and it is not still in beta.

It is indeed no longer in beta, but I don't blame people for thinking it is. We have a long way to go - especially on some issues that have a large impact on the games look and feel (graphics, sounds).

Comparing this product to something like hearthstone is... ambitious. Apparently they built it with an exceptionally small team of 15 people in only 6 years... well we were with 2-3 people for one year. If people still expect the same result I can understand their disappointment. The harsh truth is that a lot of money was lost with all the failed Dominion Online trials we've had over the past several years.

Nonetheless I have faith in the future... now that we can actually sell subscriptions there will also be room to pay more people to get some great graphics, and when we add them over the next couple of months I think people will be positively surprised. The emailing was problematic at the start but the gameservers themselves easily handled the load and I think we have something here we can build upon. Time will tell.

This is great! Thanks for posting this, Stef. It gives me a lot of confidence that the future of Dominion is in good hands, even if the vision isn't 100 percent actualized at the moment.

Making Fun honored purchases made under Goko. It's not unprecedented in Dominion land.

I would totally pay again for a brand new version of online Dominion (and I did just pay for Adventures and Empires to support the new version), but honestly, it's easy to see where the complaints are coming from, given the current state of the new product. The complaints are not unreasonable.

Having to use undo to get your intended outcome because you are misled by the client or can't tell what the client is going to do is bad UI design, not an ideal use of the undo button. The Undo button (assuming it can't be abused) should be only needed for careless play mistakes.

Edit: spelling.
