Interface Issues / Re: Irrelevant order of events

Yeah, gaining tokens should just be automatic. Sure that decision might have to be revisited down the road if Donald creates a "when you gain a vp token" effect. For now at least, it shouldn't prompt you.

I vote that we don't have a poll.

Current totals:
Poll: 1
No Poll: 1
I didn't vote: 1

Feature Requests / Re: Music and Sound
04 February 2017, 02:47:23 PM
Sound effects can provide subtle context clues that can make playing the game easier/better.

Music on the other hand, isn't useful. Even if they pay someone to compose some cool new music, people would get tired of it. So my preference would be to not waste the time with anything music related. People can play their own music.

Game-relevant sounds would be great though!

The solution is not for Shuffle iT to "remember" your login credentials. That would be awful. The solution is to use a cookie so that Shuffle iT recognizes your session and can bypass the login screen altogether. If I'm in a game and hit refresh, I should not be sent back to the login page at all.

That's what everybody in this thread means. Even if they didn't specify "using cookies", that's the standard way of remembering your login.

I thought you don't have access to oponent hand client side. Same with Black Market, client don't need it so why is it possible to find by the extension?

Ironically, the issue is that in the client, the opponent's hand and the BM deck are the only two card piles which you *don't* have access to. This includes both players' deck and discard piles, provided a single shuffle has occurred.

So the issue is that you don't have access to the PILE, but you still know the list of cards in the GAME, right? I think his question was more, "how do you even know what's in the BM deck?"

Interface Issues / Re: Can't order cards with Sentry

My workaround is that I drag two cards.  Say I want card 4 to go all the way to the right.  I can't do it, as the card does not want to go all the way to the right.  So, I'll just drag it to spot 2 (ie, 2nd from the right side).  Then, I take the far-right card and drag it to the left, to the left of the original card that I moved.  Does that make sense?  :-)

It's frustrating having to go through extra steps.  But this method should work, till they implement a better system for ordering.

Yeah, that's what I usually have to do too. It sucks.

General Discussion / Re: Weird new idea for streamers?

Isn't it easier to ask your viewers to go spectate your table rather than this? They can listen along with the audio of your stream and then they can check cards, trash, etc. whenever they feel like it.

The audio from Twitch won't be synced up right for someone spectating through the client. Twitch has a delay, so you'd see things happen in client before it showed up on the audio.

And this also requires viewers to have 2 tabs open for this one purpose. And the interface sucks for trying to find a specific table to spectate. Basically, don't make viewers jump through extra hoops -- they probably won't do it.

I always have a hard time with the reorder interface. When reordering something like 4 cards, it's easy to reorder the middle ones, but when you try to drag a card to the very end, it always has a hard time putting the card where I want it.

[VP counter] should always be disabled 100% of the time no matter what in games with more than 2 players and Masquerade

Ha, I'd never thought of that! The counter would definitely reveal info that shouldn't have been revealed.

Seems like a lot of hassle to give your viewers that extra little bit of info that you're missing. For the most part, I'm fine with just seeing the streamer's hand.

That said, if you don't mind going through the extra steps, it would make for a better viewing experience when the opponent has long, complicated turns.

Equal starting hands is strictly bad

I wouldn't go that far. It might not be quite as good, but it's still going to be a fun game of Dominion.

When there are two options of relatively similar fun level, we can argue all day about which is better. Or we can just play the game the way it was designed and not worry about it. Maybe someday there will be optional variants online, but that's super low priority.

I don't think there's really any valid argument why this shouldn't be a feature eventually. It's just going to be lower priority than any of the in-game things that need to be fixed. Ask again in a year (or whenever it seems like they've fixed all the more important stuff).

Yay, everyone's happy!

I think the real argument against this idea is the "no variants" argument (and I guess the VP counter doesn't count as a variant because it's technically possible to count it yourself). It doesn't really matter if this specific variant is an improvement or not.

Maybe a few years down the road when they've run out of improvements to make, they can start adding optional variants in. That's fine...I mean, if you literally don't have any other development to do...might as well.

There's still a ton of luck in Dominion and the only way to get rid of it all would be to allow players to stack their decks every time they shuffle, which is not happening in my tournaments.

$5 Terminal Duration - The next time you shuffle, you may order your cards however you wish.

Slowest game ever.

Interface Issues / Re: Sauna interface issues
28 January 2017, 03:48:23 PM
I'd think "Play All Treasures" should play the silvers first when you have Saunas out because that gives you the most options. You can simply choose to not trash, but if it autoplays the silvers last, you've already missed that decision.

On the other hand, Adam has a good point about the interface being annoying when you don't want to trash anything. I like the idea of switching the default to "play, not trash" when clicking on another treasure.

I don't know...Possession says you make ALL decisions for the player. That would include resigning. </sarcasm>
