Cursed Village Hex did not take effect

I bought a Cursed Village on Turn 3. I drew Poverty for the Hex but it did not make me discard.

I'm sure as usual someone is going to tell me it's supposed to work that way but it really seems like a bug

Did you have more than 3 cards in hand when buying it? I think that is unlikely after buying Cursed Village turn 3.

Markus hit the nail on the head. TheSeal had only an Estate in hand when he bought the Cursed Village, so the hex' effect (discard down to 3) did not materially affect him.
