Summon Skulk bug?

game #8756290 on frankfurt.

"b plays a Catapult.
b trashes a Copper.
c discards a card and a Copper.
b plays 2 Coppers and a Gold.
b buys a Summon.
b gains a Skulk.
b gains a Gold.
Summon loses track of Skulk (it was covered up)."

Nothing in the wording of Summon suggests that gaining the gold on top of the Skulk should prevent it being set aside!

While I also find this unintuitive, this is not a bug. It's consistent with the ruling for Death cart and Border Village as you can see here http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Summon under other rules clarifications.

Hmm, thanks - fair enough - though as you say it's unintuitive...

The 'problem' is that a computer game cannot decide when it is easy for a human to keep track of a card, and when not. Unfortunately, it seems that the number of cases where a card is actually shuffled into the deck (where the lost track rule makes sense) is minuscule to the number of cases where it is just covered up in the discard (like here), or in an unexpected (but easily findable) place (Necromancer).

I would say that the lose track rule also makes sense when you play a card that isn't in play. Otherwise you would get two cards from Throning a Wish, draw twice from Throning a Mercenary etc.
