login no longer working for me

For several weeks, I've had the following problem:
when I reach the login page, whenever I click "login" after entering name/pw, it says

Server connection was closed or could not be established

the only way I can run the game is by opening an "incognito window" (this is using chrome).
I tried deleting all cookies, didn't help.
any suggestion?

It looks like something is still stored in your Chrome data that causes a problem. The usual way I deal with the error condition you stated is causing a page reload ("CTRL-R" on Windows, I think "Shift-Cmd-R" on a Mac, which also cleans the cache).
