Autocorrect in chat

Hi,

is there an autocorrect function in the chat? A friend has complained to me that whole words he wrote got exchanged. I've never noticed anything like that.

No, there is nothing like that that I'm aware off.

Was that done via a touch device? Maybe the device itself made the "correction"?

He's using a laptop. I'm really mystified how this might happen.
