"Rewind" button

The new interface is beautiful!

I hovered on the new button between "kingdom" and "undo" -- it is called "rewind."

What is rewinding?  What does this button do?

I fear that this is a crazy basic question, but I did search the FAQs and forum first.

It's a way to Undo more than the last step without having to click Undo several times: you can click on the line in the log that you want to go back to.

The normal "undo" button does what it did in the "old" UI: It goes back to before your last decision.

The Rewind button let's you go back to before any decision. If you click it, each log line with a decision will have a yellow line surrounding it. If you click the log line, you will attempt to go back to that decision (could be yours or somebody else's).

That is handy in cases you did something wrong a few steps back, you need to ask your opponent just once for the undo effect, instead of needing to do it in 2-3 one-decision undos.
