Bot games that have this card in play are not much fun.  The bot always picks Gold as the card.  I'd love to see this updated a bit.  I would imagine that this would be the most complicate algorithm to figure out, in terms of what a real-life player would do.  But, to limit the improvement to easily-done code changes, here are my thoughts.

Province Games.
Default is gold, until a Prov. is bought.  From then on, the bot would pick Prov.

Colony Games.
Default is gold, until first Prov or Platinum is bought
If Prov is bought, then bot always picks Colony.
If Platinum is bought, then bot always picks Platinum--until the first Colony is picked, and then the bot switches to Colony.

Obviously, the bot will still pick incorrectly in a lot of situations (someone bought an early Colony, but it makes more sense to block Platinum).  But just this simple fix would still be a big improvement.

Not the world's biggest fix priority.  But if someone has an extra hour or so to add the code, it would be a nice change, and 1000% more realistic, as compared to the current 'always gold' choice.

Support / Can't log in ("Your client is too old...")
10 February 2017, 06:59:19 PM
Was able to log in since site opened.

Today, for the first time, I cannot.  I get a popup error message, "Your client is too old; please Ctr-Reload the page to get a new one."

Okay, I pressed Ctr and moved my cursor over the reload icon.  (Most recent Firefox, on Windows 10).  Same message.  Closed down Firefox and opened it again.  Same problem.  Obviously, I do not have any problems accessing this (Forum) side of the ShuffleIt website.

What's the solution?  Firefox is my only available browser.

[UPDATE:  Got the solution from the Discord site.  Ignore the incorrect info on the popup window.  Instead, hit Ctr-R, to reload.  That immediately solved the issue.

There was a thread today on Discord, from other users with the same issue.  Apparently, there was a new release/update today, and that's why all of our clients were too old.]

Yesterday, I was playing a random game against Lord Rat.  Came across something I've never seen . . . Kings Court AND Throne Room in the same deck.

So, assuming you have both in your deck, and some other action.  Does it matter in any way if you go KC, then TR, then the action (as opposed to TR, then KC, then that action)?

My basic math tells me that 2x3 = 3x2, so it should not make any difference.  But maybe it does if you have a fistful of other actions.  Does KC first allow you to play 3 actions, with each one Throned?  Does TR first let you play only 2 actions, but each one tripled?

In real life, I can't imagine coming across this (I'd never intentionally construct a deck with both of these cards in it.).  But since it came up here . . . .

How to Play / How do pay off Debt??
17 January 2017, 10:14:06 PM
Just bought Empires, on a Windows 10 PC (newest Firefox browser).

I have now played a few games with "sample" Empire decks, to start learning about the cards.  Yesterday, I used Debt for the first time, in buying Capital.  (This may have been a poor decision in terms of what to learn on, as its wording suggests that you get new debt Each time you use it, right?).  I also, later, bought Engineer, which also gives a one-time Debt of 4.

As I played hands, I noticed a few things.  (1) Even with outstanding debt (which I can see in a small counter, near the VP counter, at the lower-left of the screen), I can still buy cards as normal.  Victory cards, action cards, coin cards, etc.

(2) I cannot figure out how to pay off the debt.  In the game log, I can see where it says that I now have the option to buy cards or pay off debt.  But it's not a hot link (like "pay off Wine Merchant" or "call Ratcatcher") at that location.  I can see a slider, where--if I move it--it moves debt numbers up or down.  But that can only INCREASE my debt, as far as I can tell, and does not pay anything off.  I see buttons like "autoplay treasures (ie, the default action) and 'no treasures.'  But, oddly, no "pay off debt" button.

Can someone walk me through the process of paying off debt?
Step One: ____
Step Two: ____
etc etc

Thanks for the info . . . I can't be the only one with this issue. I'm sure it's really obvious, once one knows the steps.  :-)

p.s.  If I knew how to do a screen shot and paste it in here, I would do so, of course.

When game turn came to ask me to react with Diplomat card, the other player asked me for an Undo.  I granted it, and the game froze at that point.  Not sure if due to the Undo request, or due to the reaction with Diplomat.

Where on the game screen is this "kick" button I have heard about??

Once a game is in progress, or, once a game has ended, where do you look to determine which game you are playing/have just played?  I had a bug to report, but when I hunted around for the specific game number, I could not locate it.  I'm sure that I was just overlooking it, so if someone can point me to where on the screen it is, that would be appreciated!  :-)

General Discussion / Meaning of "X left the table" ??
05 January 2017, 12:00:28 PM
I was just playing a game, and then, in the middle, I saw the message, "Chalky left the table."

What does this mean?  I am assuming it means that Chalky quit the game.  But then the game would show that there was a quit, or resignation, etc, right??  If C just walked out of his/her room for a minute, then of course the computer would not know that.  :D

If one gets this sort of message, what sort of unspoken rule is there about how long I should wait for another move?  Or is "left the table" code for 'quit, gone, and forever departed."?

Other Bugs / bug in Gardens game
05 January 2017, 10:14:52 AM
Wish I could give you the specific game, but could not see it, including in the game move log.

Bug is in the scoring table after the game ends.  The final result was correct.  Me: 64, Lord R: 49

Me           #      VP
Estate        5       5
Gardens       4       5
Dut.          3       9
Prov          5      30

Lord R
E             4       4
Gar.          3       9
D             5      15
P             3      18

As you can see, there is a bug re Gardens.  I had 4, which (obviously) could not yield a score of "5".  The table did correctly show that I had 51 cards, for a Gardens value of 5 per Garden card.  But, for LR, the table correctly assigned him the 3/garden score and came up with the correct total of 9.

This bug is not a huge deal, since--in the total game summary--I **DID** get the 20 Gardens points I had earned.  It's just a minor one, and hopefully an easy fix.

Card Bugs / Bug with Ambassador
03 January 2017, 01:36:39 PM
Just played a game with Ambassador.  It worked perfectly when trashing/giving away coppers.  But not for any other card I tried.  My opponent had the exact same issue.  Worked fine with coppers, but not for anything else.  Hmmmm

Support / How to log in on a Kindle??
03 January 2017, 01:33:30 PM
I saw under FAQs that Apple is having tech trouble playing nicely with the new Dominion game.  Are you having the same issue for Kindle tablets?  I was able to follow your email link to me and register/log in on my desktop PC with no problem.  (I'm writing this from that computer.)

But I cannot log in from the Kindle.  Is there anything special I need to do?
