General Discussion / Re: Journey Token
10 March 2017, 03:50:59 PM
When teaching a friend I just told him this game was currently bugged and the journey token shows the opposite side, that seemed like the easiest way to explain it to people who actually expect things to do what the card text says.

In a 2p game I would much rather my opponent just resign (Or say thanks for the game you win), than ask me for permission to resign.

If they ask my options are:
a) Say no and we play out a game that they are not enjoying.
Makes me feel bad, for "forcing" them to continue.

b) Say yes. Same outcome as if they didn't ask.

c) Say no, and they leave anyway.

If people want to resign they should be able to resign. This is ridiculous, it shouldn't even be a debate.

I'd be perfectly happy liming the log to everything between now and your previous action.

Really need a proper journey token though.

It should not be an 'advanced option'. It should be off by default.

Game variants cannot be added while the lack of any kind of table sorting or filtering exists. VP counters is already enough of a travesty. The developers have a lot of more important things on their plate.

It seems ridiculous to me that you'd want to reduce player interaction. The most boring games are the ones where you have no reason to care what your opponents are buying.

It's interesting that every single check box in advanced table options is defaulted to the exact opposite of how I'd want it to be.

A better table picking interface really needs to be high priority. It's almost impossible to find a table I'd want with the lack of any filtering or sorting. I know there are the find match buttons, but I don't like 2 player games (3 player is really Dominion's sweet spot).

It's not like possession makes you actually lose a turn. It's a card that "feels" a lot more unfair than it is.

I can't find myself getting too upset by this. At least they resigned and didn't just leave and force you to wait. Maybe they had a good reason, and maybe they didn't, but it's not really my place to give (or deny) them "permission" to resign, so I don't see why they should need to ask first.

Secret Passage should be numbering from the top of the deck, not the bottom. That's more intuitive, and more likely how a player will think of things when they want to put the card in a specific spot in their deck. (I believe the manual itself even uses # from the top as an example).

If I was playing at a real table with a player who said they were putting the card 18th from the bottom when they meant 2nd from the top, I would think they were either being intentionally silly, or are secretly a robot.

Interface Issues / Re: "Crown" Logic

I think allanfieldhouse's solution makes the most sense, and is a solution that would easily work for any/all future action/treasure cards as well.

It would be great if tables held all the settings of the last one I made, especially stuff like show victory counters which I like off. Or at least the option to setup defaults for tables I create in settings or something.

Also, I'd be great to have the option to set tables as friends only, or just completely private.
