Bug Reports / Re: Skirmisher after Divine Wi...

On reloaded games, when the number of players is fixed, it should add a bot (or bots) by itself and not unsuccessfully try to start a game with not enough players. That seems a reasonable change to make.

Quote from: Ingix on 16 June 2026, 07:43:27 AMWhat happened was that in addition to Skirmisher you had also played Footpad during that turn, so your opponent was already at 3 cards in hand at the point you bought the Attack (another Skirmisher).
Having now successfully looked at the log, I see that I failed to notice the drawing of two cards because of Hirelings, i.e. by the time I looked at my opponent's position he was already back up to five cards.

QuoteTo load a game, you press the "Load old Game button" in the lower left of the Kingdom Options panel. Then you enter the game id and in 99.9% of cases you either keep the 0 in the decision box (you start the game at the beginning, say you want to replay it with the same starting hands as the previous game to check out another strategy), or you press the "Load from End" button, (which sets the decision to the last decision before the game ended).
The latter is what I did.  It was the next step that defeated me.  Having now experimented again, I see that adding a bot and clicking on Ready is what's required, but when I tried that previously I got a message to the effect that the game had already started, presumably because of something I had previously done wrong.  In fact further experimentation has revealed what I did wrong.  If one clicks on Ready before adding a bot, then when one does so again after adding a bot, one gets the message 'Already started'.

Thanks for the report, dane!

What happened was that in addition to Skirmisher you had also played Footpad during that turn, so your opponent was already at 3 cards in hand at the point you bought the Attack (another Skirmisher).

To load a game, you press the "Load old Game button" in the lower left of the Kingdom Options panel. I did the latter, scrolled back to the turn numbers you mentioned, found the situation you described, made an undo to the decision to buy the skirmisher, looked at opponent's hand, saw 3 cards, looked at the log and in play area and found the Footpad.

I agree that load interface is clunky and the decision index might no longer be needed.

Bug Reports / Skirmisher after Divine Wind
Last post by dane - 15 June 2026, 02:10:58 PM
Game #179747495.

I can't remember whether Skirmisher was in the original Kingdom or in the replacement one.

On about turn 20 or 21 I played a Skirmisher and then bought an Attack (I can't remember which one).  As far as I could see at the time, my opponent was not forced to discard down to three cards and did not have any reaction cards.

Sorry that the report is a bit vague.  I'd hoped to check the game log to fill in the details and to confirm that what I thought happened really did happen, but it's been such a long time since I last loaded an old game that I seem to have forgotten the correct technique for doing so.  In this sort of situation it would be really useful to be able to load an old game to step through it rather than loading an old game to play from a decision point.

Support / Is this a bug with Wine Mercha...
Last post by lesliet - 14 June 2026, 09:12:24 PM
I've played a Wine Merchant. I have no money left, but two unspent coffers. The Wine Merchant goes back into my deck, apparently on the basis of the two coffers, but the two coffers are not subtracted (spent); they stay there for my next turn. I believe this is a bug?

I have also had this happen with Fisherman and an empty discard pile (game #179706054). Peddler worked properly though (presumably because the timing of the cost reduction (Buy phase) happened after DW was activated)

Resigning is always rude unless your kitchen is on fire. Common courtesy avails to play it out.
