What rating does it show to you?

Somethine is strange with your results, I'm inquiring what may have happened.

First, I can recreate the problem on Firefox and Chrome. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do so that dominion.games uses the standard font size and every other website the larger font size  :( , but see my sugesttion at the end.

1) Yes. When I changed the font to "Large" in the Chrome settings, I get the same kind of problem that you showed. When I changed it back, it was OK again. I assume that will happen for you as well.

2) I don't think Mircrosoft allows different kinds of Edge on the same system, but I'm by no means an expert on this.

3) Yes, you can access that on that page and change the magnification of every website, but you can also change that per web page (as per CTRL-MouseWhelUp/Donw). Unfortunately, it doesn't solve the problem by itself: If you have the larger fonts enabled, then increasing the magnification just makes the unreadable card bigger, but the coin symbol is still above the text.

So from what I can see, the only solution right now would be to set the font size to normal while you are playing and change it back once you are done. Cumbersome, IMO, and if you want to read other websites while playing, they use normal font size.

One option to prevent that (which I use for myself with Firefox) is to create another profile in Chrome, by clicking on the little person icon in the top right:

That creates another profile, and all settings belong to a profile. So you can change the settings for this profile to work OK with dominion.games (setting font size to "middle", maybe increase magnification), but they don't affect your standard profile, that keeps whatever options you've chosen (like large fonts).

The "Add profile" dialog also creates a new shortcut on the desktop, which you can rename to "Dominion" and use it to start Dominion. It will create a new window, not a tab in your existing Chrome browser, but that's the only difference. This seems to me the most promising approach.

If that happens what you describe, that a player on reload can't find their own table, it seems a server doing the work between games has been switched/rebooted. That server is responsible for pointing a player back to their gameserver when doing a page reload during a game, and since it's now a new server, it doesn't know about the ongoing game.

Now I could reload the game, so you could continue it, but I'm also at a loss what to do at the time this problem happens.  :(

Thanks for the update on the situation. If the unblocking works out, it would be nice to get a short description what you did, in case somebody else gets that problem as well. It's the first time I hear that this could be a problem.

3) Yes, private tables are a widely requested feature. When you come from the perspective of "I only want to play with my friends", then private tables are the obvious choice, and making them open for others is a secondary concern. Here the way was the opposite: Tables are open by default and since you can kick unwanted players, the step to create private tables hasn't yet been done.

4) To me that's very similar to problem 3. A private table that you can later make public would be the solution for this.
4a) You are right, saving Kingdom card lists is again a feature that would make what you want to do easier.

5) It means the pool from which the cards are chosen is the combined set of cards "owned" by all players. That's the standard for every game.
For unrated games respecting Familiar Cards is a table option. Players can declare a set of cards as familiar (like if they own expansions X,Y and Z as physical cards and haven't seen other cards before). When the game respects familiar cards, it will make an exception to the rule above and restrict the pool from which cards are chosen to the cards that are familiar to all players. The first sentence you quoted is stressing that this will not happen in rated games (this is done so players can't "cook" a kingdom by declaring just the 10 cards they want to play with as familiar.)

Yes, it's a known bug, also happens with Scepter and sometimes with Graverobber.

The only thing that matters is 3), your opponent's ratings, and of course the result of the game.

But from what you describe it seems you play mostly players that are lower rated than you, so the rating gain from a win is smaller than the rating loss from a loss against that same player.

You might want to take a look at your opponent's rating while you play (both ratings are at the top of the game log). After a game, you can use Dombot on the general Dominion discord (https://discord.gg/KDCWKeG) to check your latest rated games, their opponent's and their rating.

Formally, Edge is not supported, that's why it shows you the message.

Now I just got an update on my Windows 8.1 PC that installed it and it worked OK with the game. But I think there are different versions of Edge out there, some based on Chromium, basically the "engine" of Chrome. It looks like my version is based on Chromium, and your version is still the "original" one that Microsoft made completely themselves.

As a game, Dominion has different demands on text as a normal webpage. The normal webpage doesn't care if a given text is shown with 80 small characters per line and thus say 50 lines, or with 40 big characters per line and thus 100 lines. Since our text needs to fit on the cards, if it is made bigger by the browser to accomodate a larger font size you get the results you posted.

What you can do is to increase the magnification on the game page (CTRL-MouseWheelUp on Firefox/Chrome on Windows). That will not much affect the general game area, but if you right-click a card to see its detailös it will be bigger than normal.

Can you explain what exactly happens? Does he not reach the game page, can he not log in, does he get the "spinning castle" after login (the castle picture of dominion, with the endlesslessly spinning "waiting" curser of Windows), etc?

Yes, Lord Rat has problems with a few cards, one of them being Wayfarer. The Lord can't decide if to gain a Silver or not.

If something like this happens again, where the bot takes suddenly more than a few seconds to make a decision, then reload the page (CTRL-R). One reason might be that the connection between you and the game is slow or broken, which means the reload takes a long time or hangs as well. Another is that the game is overcrouded and thus laggy, where the same will happen.

In this case, it might be worth to wait, because the problem is not the Lord Rat, but the response time from the game (in other words, the problem would be similar if your opponent was a human player).

But if the game reloads in a usual time interval and it still says "Waiting for Lord Rattington", then it is most likely a situation like here, where the bot AI is stuck. Then I'd personally do another round of CTRL-R and waiting for the reloads to be absolutely sure, then resign the game. The bot is actually stuck, not just taking a long time and you can't change that. So resign and play another game.

Dominion Online has a rating system that works similiarly to the ELO system unsed in chess. If win your rating increases, if you loose it decreases. If you win a against a better player you gain more than if you win against a player of same strength, a.s.o.

Your rating and that of your friends (the players in your friend list) you can see in the leaderboars tab. There is no explicite win/loss ratio or similar stat.

On the general Dominion discord at https://discord.gg/TQhTVB2 there is a helper program "dombot" that can give you more detailed data, like what your lastest rated games were, how they ended etc.

your card layout is seriously messed up. The Philosopher's stone has the type line with "Treasure" and the cost way too high, so it impacts the text. The other cards also show that the text seems to be too big for the space. It's definitely not supposed to look that way.

From your picture it looks like it's Chrome on Windows 10. I guess this is not an uncommon setup for players, but it's the first time I hear/see about this. Since when does this happen? Was there a recent Chrome update (it broke some things before). I know there was a recent Windows 10 update, but that hasn't been the source of problems before.

Can you check what happens when you use Firefox or Edge?
