There seems to be an issue about logging in.

Repeatedly trying does work for most people, though.

OK thanks. I'm in now without problems.

After attempting to login I'm getting

"Server connection was closed or could not be established"

Interface Issues / Re: "Crown" Logic
04 February 2017, 08:52:28 PM
I've played against several people who unwittingly play Crown sub-optimally (i.e. as an action when they have no actions). I usually point it out and offer to Undo a step. Sometimes they take me up on it.

I think this is evidence that the current interface for Crown needs to be fixed.

Feature Requests / Re: Music and Sound

Agree with sound notifications, because even if I have the sound muted, the browser tab will display a little sound icon.

As for music, I think that's probably near the bottom of my personal wish list. I am quite happy to supply my own music.

First let me say that I prefer playing with a VP counter, and I suspect I know why it's the default, but I think it might be helpful to have that design decision explained somewhere.

Is there a FAQ where something like this could go?

It would be really great if we were able to specify an abbreviated form of our username to put here.

So then someone uses "   " as the abbreviation for their username.  Or they choose something less ridiculous but equally discordant with their username, like if I chose "DUDE" as my preferred abbreviation.

I think that would make the OP's issues much worse.

Feature Requests / Re: Discard Pile

Why does this rule exist in the first place?

Is it to prevent slowing the game down at the table? (if so this certainly doesn't apply here)

Is it to prevent counting for Gardens? (with a VP tracker, this is a non issue)

Some other reason?

Quote from: Donald X. on 01 February 2017, 12:12:44 AMIt's not even the most significant shuffle.

Has someone attempted this analysis over at f.ds? I've always felt that the second shuffle (usually between turns 2 and 3) was the most significant one, but that's just my intuition.

Interface Issues / Re: Can't order cards with Sentry

Second this. The drag-to-order interface is sub-optimal.

I'd much prefer an interface that allows you to select a card and then click on arrows to move it. That seems like a pretty standard, intuitive interface for re-ordering.

I'd love to be able to friend/unfriend etc another player by (right)clicking on the name. Would ease up the whole process in my mind.

I agree there needs to be a way to do this during a game, but please, please, please don't make it another Right-Click action.

Right-clicks should be removed from the interface.

I just don't buy the argument that identical starting hands makes the game more interesting. If my life depended on one single game of Dominion, then I would argue for it -- but then again, I would probably try anything to gain an advantage in that situation, assuming I wasn't paralyzed trying to figure out exactly how I got into a situation where my life depended on a game of Dominion.

In the cases where being on the wrong side of a 5/2 split is really disadvantageous, the game will probably be over quickly, and if it's not, then you can resign and play another one! Games are quick. And playing three games doesn't cost you appreciably more (in time or $) than playing one game. 13/18 times (on average) you'll end up with the same starting hand as your opponent. In the other games you'll have some interesting decisions to make. Sometimes you'll have an advantage, and that brings a certain amount of pressure to win; sometimes you'll be at a disadvantage and that brings an interesting challenge. Sometimes you'll complain about your shitty luck to your opponent and then quit a few turns later and let me tell you, that's not a good look.

I find it fascinating that the same user posted two feature requests in short succession: one arguing for blind buys to curtail mirror matches and another to force identical starting hands. Those two ideas seem incongruous!

You can click it to hide it until something happens.

I will try that. I think there should probably be some indication that you can dismiss the window. A little "x" is universally recognized.

I normally don't mind the placement of the "Waiting for..."  box EXCEPT when i'm playing second and waiting for my opponent's first turn. It makes it difficult to scan over the supply piles.

This is an interesting variant idea, and maybe at some point the Shuffle iT to-do list will get small enough that a suite of variants could be developed and implemented. I think that would also require a distinction between "ranked" and "friendly" games, since I can't imagine anyone wanting to play a ranked match with such a variant.

After a first game against a human player, I decide to say I am ready for another one,and while I decide to click on ready and I really click on ready if the other player quit the game, a match against "Lord Rattington" start ! It is boring, a confirmation here is needed.

I second this one. It's very confusing when this happens.
