Hey, up to this point I thought a card with a potion cost ist always worth more than a card with just coin cost.
So my sage was discarding my topdecked apothecary last game?
Was my assumption wrong all that past time?
You where wrong!
2 < 2P
and
P + 2 = 2P
but
2P is not smaller than 3 and
2P is not larger than 3.
it works like complex numbers in mathematics do.

does that mean 2p = 2?
No, Apothecary costs more than Estate.
If it costs the same number of coins but also Potion or Debt, it costs more.

Not sure what you want to say, but complex numbers and ordering don't mix. It is not true that 1 < 1+i or something like that. They are *all* incomparable. That's different from Dominion, where *some* card costs are incomparable (2P and 3) while others are comparable (4P and 3). The mathematical term for that is a partial order.
