Game 4349137: I had 2 estates in hand, one copper on the draw pile and 1 duchy in discard. I played Rebuild, and the game went straight to the buy phase, not letting me rebuild the Duchy into a Province. I didn't get a chance to select a victory card to skip.

If it was turn 5, your opponent had an enchantress in play, so your Rebuild was converted into saying only "+1 card, + 1 action".

Duration cards that affect an opponent's turn (because they are attacks, like the Enchantress, or preventing attacks, like Lighthouse) can be quite a surprise because they are unfortunately not shown in play.
