Feature Requests / More equal opponents

I would prefer to have the definition of an equal opponent being narrowed down. The set of possible opponents for players with a high level is obviously skewed towards getting weaker opponents, but I would often rather wait (much) longer than getting matched again with some >80% expected win opponent. (My average matched probability has been around 75% last week.)

I think it would be fine to reduce the threshold for a suitable opponent to 7-10 levels. Ideally, I would like to have a slider that sets the range of accepted win probabilities. But (another) button with "more equal" opponents could work as well, so that people have the choice between random, decent, and equal opponent.

When gaining a Villa with Watchtower in hand, one has to select "Villa" from the log to put it in hand. I think it should say "may put it in hand" instead. (Ideally this should have a button as well.)

I think that the updating of sigma is not in line with the Glicko-2 algorithm:
It seems that everyone who played 1 day has sigma=0.0576 and those who played on both days have sigma=0.0554.

The correct values should be much closer to 0.06. If such a jump happens in the Glicko-2 algorithm, it's only because some players idiosyncratic results are that extreme. Therefore, it's virtually impossible that all players jump by so much, but to the (almost?) exact same value.

From a mathematical perspective, what step 5 in the algorithm does, is to find the zero point of the f(x) function on top of page 3. Something seems to go wrong there. In particular the solution for x is significantly smaller than a, so the first ratio must be more negative than it should be.

My hunch is that a correct implementation of sigma will be relatively boring with most players sticking close to 0.06. If there's some downward bias, however, it will also affect phi, which will become smaller than it should be - especially once everyone's phi has become smaller due to playing such that sigma matters more in step 6.

We had set Events to 0-0, but Basilica showed up in #2491660. (Selected sets were Empires, Promos, Seaside, Dark Ages).

Feature Requests / Preserve host after reconnect

It seems that when the host disconnects the player who was second in joining the table becomes the new host. This even led to the awkward situation that I became host as a spectator, because I had joined the table before the second player.

It would be good, if the host remains the same after reconnecting to the game. You could for example check at the end of the game, whether the host from the beginning of the game is still present.

And if the host is not present, it is probably preferrable to make the other actual player(s) the new host before picking a spectator.

It seems that when playing Band of Misfits as Mining Village I have to confirm after each play that I don't want to trash it. When playing an actual Mining Village, I normally don't have to do that.

When buying Harem in the presence of Aqueduct, I have to specify in the log whether the VP tokens to or from Aqueduct should happen first. Usually, there wouldn't be a VP token on Harem, in which case I shouldn't be asked.

When there is a Wine Merchant on the tavern mat that I could possibly discard, the interface shouldn't say "end turn" but "end buy phase".
I was hesitant to click that button searching the log for other possibilities to discard my Wine Merchants.  ;)

When I right-click Quest in the log, it brings up the info box in portrait and not landscape, making it unreadable.

Connection Problems / Connection problems

Since the update to the new lobby design on the beta I'm frequently experiencing what seems connection problems during games (about once per game): the page reloads automatically and I'm at the login screen. Using kick and logging in, I can then usually continue the game. Sometimes this also happens at the end of the game instead of showing the score board.
My internet connection is fine, however, so I'm wondering what the reason is.

Just now, it happened while I was waiting for my opponent to take their turn. After logging in, I ended up in the lobby instead of the game. It was definitely less than 5 minutes, but maybe my opponent resigned while waiting for me? There should be some personal history, so that I can see what happened to a specific game.

Also, I'm not sure how the client deals with connection problems during a game. In the MF client, you got a message to let you know that something is not working. Then, you could for example restart the router, if it was really the internet connection lost. Am I returned to the login screen immediately, when there's a short connection loss, or only after some time?
I don't think that there's a way for me to tell during an opponent's turn whether they are just thinking or I have lost connection?

Other Bugs / Store: price for last day

I purchased Gold until Jan 1, 2018.
When I open the store again, it suggests buying Gold exactly until that date for 0,54€. If I set the "until date" to somewhere in 2017, it correctly says 0€ and also stays at 0€, if I then pick Jan 1, 2018 again.

Also, my subscriptions are now both ending Jan 1, 2018 (Gold excl. Empires and Empires) and are shown in two separate lines. I think the best way would be to have lines for different dates and listing all expansions that expire by the respective date.

The background and "unfamiliar cards" numbers are not fully visible when they're double-digit. For some height-width ratios even single digits are not fully visible.

Card Bugs / set aside Encampment and VP tracker

When Encampment is set aside, it still counts as belonging to me for the purpose of Wolf Den for example. Only after my turn, the VP tracker adjusts.

I think it should be accounted for already when setting it aside, because there's no way that it doesn't leave my deck at the end of turn (not even if possessed)?

While my opponent has all cards in hand due to Donate, there is still a Copper shown face up in the discard pile.

When you look at the top card of your draw pile (Ironmonger, Duchess,...) it shows the revealed card in the middle. The number of cards on the draw pile is still the one including the revealed card.
It is at least counterintuitive to see e.g. a card face down with a 1 in the draw pile, while you are actually looking at this card.

I find it odd that Secret Passage counts card from the bottom. Having bottom as the default location is fine. But I think "Location 2" should be the second card from top and not from bottom.

I would prefer being able to click a treasure directly after playing Plaza to discard it. So I would make both Action cards and Treasures being clickable. Treasures could have a different border color to not confuse discarding with playing in the buy phase. (If there was no action card left in hand, one would have to click "end action" though, if one doesn't want to discard to Plaza.)

They don't always allow you not to take the Copper / Settlers. My guess at the moment is that you don't get the option to decline, if there's another Action card in your hand.

In the log, Settlers says "puts a card into his hand."
"a Copper" instead of card would be better.

It also reveals, at how many cards in the discard pile the opponent looks, which strictly speaking it shouldn't.
