Hello. I just tracked down this thread after recently posting a similar request and being forwarded Donald X's pithy response. I just want to state for the record that I completely agree with Hertz Doughnut's in-depth reply near the end of this thread. I'm among the people who always balances out the starting hands when playing IRL. And it's clear that there is at least a moderately significant population of Dominion players who share this preference and would appreciate the option for privately created tables.

Feature Requests / Re: Balanced opening splits

Fascinating. I have to admit that I don't follow the logic of why that option would be detrimental to the game, but who am I to judge? Thanks for the info!

Feature Requests / Balanced opening splits
13 May 2018, 11:37:37 PM
I've seen several games recently (often in my favor) where a mismatched 2/5 3/4 opening split setup an insurmountable advantage, and the game felt almost pointless to play out.

When playing with physical cards, I've found it feels much more fair to balance out opening split for the second and additional players to match the first player's shuffle.

I'd love to see a new table setup option along these lines.

General Discussion / Re: Dominion League Season 27

Doh! I was being dense! The question is how much does gold cost within the game, not real life! =:-)
It still took me many attempts to find a version of the text validation that I could actually read, so I still wish they'd use reCaptcha instead.

Has anybody had success registering on http://forum.dominionstrategy.com?
I can't seem to get past the "prove you're a human" question of "How much does gold cost?"
Very frustrating! I wish they'd just use Google's reCaptcha instead.

One more comment. Neither I nor my opponent recalled seeing any notification when the matchups were posted, so it wasn't until 2 days ago, that we even knew that we were ready to play.

Partial results:
Game 1: #7607274 Aquariangirl-2- win
Game 2: #7607766 Aquariangirl-2- win
Game 3: #7608268 elliottjf win

Note, we're still trying to schedule a time to complete our match.

Until what deadline do we have to finish our games?

I found my old welcome email and it looks like I'd already verified that it gave me a "code has already been used" warning when I tried again.  What's also curious is that I'm not prompted for the captcha code when posting here, but I and still getting prompted even when replying to an already started private message thread.

Thank you for this thread.  I've been frustrated also by pressure from impatient "fast players".  Perhaps this pattern deserves a broadcast message similar to the one sent a while back about the problem with "slow players", to remind the broader community there is nothing wrong with taking 15-30 seconds in particular for the first couple of turns.

Hello.  I'm curious if there is a way for my account to be trusted so I don't need to enter the captcha verification when sending private messages.  I'm only recently active on the forum here and it's been very tedious to send messages for coordinating the tournament games.
cheers,
