General Discussion / Re: Issues of turn/randomness

what do you mean? You think the developer put additional logic in the code to make the shuffle unfair for you?
It's the same random shuffle for everyone
Bug Reports / Game 'freezes' when opponent resigns
23 August 2023, 10:10:51 PM
After the opponent resigns, there's no response when I click on 'OK' and have no option to continue the game with bots. The page just becomes unresponsive. When I refresh it takes me back to the homescreen matchmaking page instead of the previous game.

windows 11
firefox 116.0.3 (64-bit)
Gotta agree as well. Forget about the new interfaces, that's debatable whether it's better or worse. I think it's worse.

But the biggest problem is the game is so laggy now.

My own personal pet peeve is that doing the last thing, while may be fun for you, is not fun for your opponent. You are not doing something to win the game, you are doing something that objectively (in 99.9% of case) ist a time wasting procedure. The difference is that for you it's a good time (you are winning, yay!), while for your opponent it's a bad time (they are losing). I can guarantee you that your "good time" will have the same length after you "know you win", even if you forgo the Curse buying, while your opponent can, if they want, dive right back into the next game to cut their "bad time" short.

So just take the win when you have it, buy a Curse only when it actually makes you win (I won once by 1 point from buying my 1st Curse giving me 2VP from Museum), and similarly, don't by 1 Province, 2 Duchies and 3 Estates when just the Province ends the game and wins it for you as well. Your opponent will have a slightly shorter "bad time", while you loose nothing of your good time. And you may silently thank your opponent for doing so when you are on the loosing end of a game.

does it matter in rated games how many vp you win by? or is the ranking only based on win/lose
General Discussion / Re: dominion is on steam now?

i tried it last night. overall the ui is easy to get used to. my first online game crashed so i just uninstalled after lol

the thing that stood out to me was it cost around $130 for all the expansions. so i guess it's a better deal long term, but that'll take a while.
General Discussion / dominion is on steam now?

looks like it's from another developer so i'm not sure if in the future both can coexist, but i'm definitely enjoying this one a lot
General Discussion / what's the bot's logic for wild hunt
23 September 2021, 10:08:33 PM
are you kidding me?!?!
saved up so many points and then the bot just decides to gain estate instead of drawing
with base only it's definitely much closer for me haha. like 60 40%. with expansions i feel there's a lot of cheese going on. the bots never buy certain cards or events. but then in those games, the moves i make isn't something i would do against human so i'm not really practising for a strat lol

also 1v1 comapared to 3 bots is so different. i can almost beat the ai 1v1 90%. but with 3 bots i really gotta go quick pace. i'm still not used to it sometimes
can you guys win 100% of the time against bots? i feel i lose 10-20% of the time. not sure if it's due to rng or if i'm playing cycle too much which by the time i set it up there's only 5 provinces left

nothing wrong with that. as long as you win

if i'm about to win on my last turn and i have multiple buys, i would empty province or the 3rd pile, and then buy some curses just for fun
General Discussion / why do people give up so early
21 August 2021, 02:18:37 AM
i got a early rebuild on turn 5 but i wouldn't say the game is over by that point. what do you guys think?
rebuild isn't exactly a fast card. takes a while to get provinces
a win is a win i don't care if they afk and i force them to resign or they resign themselves or the games ends normally with the province or piles empty.
i usually play on both my laptop, pc and tablet at the same time so i'm too focused on what move i should make next and don't care what the opponent does
General Discussion / Re: Undo backlash

i agree with you OP. i never allow undos and i don't ask for it either. if you make a mistake suck it up.
and if the person then starts playing slow, then i just start a new game on another device, no big deal
oh i see. thanks!
it seems like the game rolled back and the opponent redo his turn. but i didn't see any undo messages being asked. not sure what this is.
