Can there be an automatic timeout on the Pretend to Think button? It could be a random time between, say, 5 and 10 seconds. If the player isn't paying attention to the game while it's not their turn, this would keep the game moving without giving any information to the other player(s).

This would be handy.

When automatching, the free player often has to wait a while to find a paid player with expansions. As such, the free player might leave the tab and do something else on their computer or device. When they are finally matched, a sound plays, but there is no other attention grab, so the free player might not see that the game has started. This forces the paid player to wait around until the timeout so they can resign the free player. I have been a paid player in the past, currently free; this has been a mild annoyance for me in either role.

To solve this, do one or more of the following if possible:

  • system-level notification, so they see it wherever they are
  • bring game window to the front
  • give the free player 10 seconds to confirm they are ready, booting them back into the automatch queue if they don't respond
  • give higher queue priority to free players who have the game window in focus, deprioritizing those who are elsewhere
  • change the window icon to make it noticeable that a game is starting
  • play the notification sound 3 times, 10 seconds apart
Thanks!

Support / How to Save Table?
19 April 2018, 04:30:46 PM
Under My Table, where is the option to save the table I've just created, so I can come back to it in the future and play without having to rebuild it?

I think more people would play custom tables if they were listed on the main Matching page also.

1. An offline client, allowing you to play campaigns against bots

Would be nice but not essential. Mostly depends on if you can make bots that are smart enough to play right around my level, and adapt as I do.

2. A bot with a setting for different play styles
3. A strong bot.

Meh.

4. Options for timed games

Like, "you have to complete your turn in x seconds or you forfeit the turn?" I would rather see a setting that allows me to not match with players that are significantly slower than me on average.

5. Options for undo settings

I'd mostly like to see: "always allow undo if the other player has not revealed any previously hidden cards." Basically, the player should be able to auto-undo if they haven't gained any new information from the errant play.

6. Online mini-tournaments; the option to easily create one for you & your friends.

How about bigger tourneys with 1 free month of Gold subscription as prize?

7. Option to invite specific players to your table

How about after every match, I can thumbs up or thumbs down the opponent(s). I'm then more likely to be matched with people I've thumbs upped.

8. More translations (to what language?)

If there are more translations of the game, will I be getting matched with people who don't speak English? Chat is really nice some games.

9. Better animations when cards are gained/bought/played/...

I've been playing a long time so I know what's happening when things are played by Prince, or durations, or Tavern mat, etc., but  for new players this has got to be really confusing. Maybe some kind of animation to show where this  cards were coming from in order to be played? Imagine a physical game, the player might point to each card as it takes effect: "First I'm playing my Princed Smithy, then my Wharf duration, etc." It's all in the game log of course, but it would be nice to show that visually.

10. Better visualization of split piles, Archive/Crypt contents, Prince targets, ...

Would be appreciated.

10. Option to hide the log

This can't really happen until the "click below the log" actions get moved into the UI. Would be nice on smaller screens though.

11. Android app (or just improved compatibility?)

Yay.

12. iPhone app (or just improved compatibility?)

Meh.

13. Downloadable game logs

How about "click here to replay this game" with a speed adjustment button. Maybe this exists already on the "load old game" option which I haven't tried yet because I'm too lazy to find the Game ID. That page should have a list of my recent games.

14. Improved moderation (dealing with chat abuse, slowplayers, ...)

I haven't had a problem with this.

15. Tutorial on how to play Dominion

Would probably be good, but there are plenty of them out there already. Maybe pay someone who has already built one to improve it and incorporate it into the game UI?

16. Tutorial on how to play dominion online.

I think once you know the game it's easy enough to figure out.

Suggestions

Would be nice to have a text-only mode for less-obvious gaming or for crappy hardware or less battery usage.

On MF, it was easy to build custom decks, save them, and invite random people to play. I can't see where to save a custom deck, or a way to attract players to play them with me.

I'd like an option to "auto start game" when it's the default 7 coppers 3 estates setup.

Right-clicking on a card to see the card up close should darken the rest of the screen (modal window), and clicking or right-clicking *anywhere* should go back to the game. Holding down on a card should do the same thing as right-clicking.

For cards with autoplay options like Moat, there should be a delay option too. Like "Reveal Moat if I don't respond within 3 seconds." This will keep gameplay moving for players that get distracted when it's not their turn.

Can there be a per game setting like "Auto-skip remaining buys if I have 0 left to spend." This option would only appear the first time it actually happened during a game. In most games I don't want to load up on coppers every turn, but may have plenty of extra buys left.
