It's easy to view it that way, but I don't think that's always the intention.

Counterpoint: sometimes unexpected things happen with the score at the end of the game (cards getting returned to supply affecting landmark points etc.). The prudent thing is to grab as many points as you can.

Would it be too much trouble to make that window more descriptive? You could put in the turn number they're requesting to undo to ("Request to undo 55 steps (turn 10)"), or the number of turns that would be undone ("Request to undo 55 steps (10 turns)"). "Steps" is not a concept that exists in Dominion so having that be the only information someone has to go by can be confusing.

If I see someone request to undo 55 of anything, I'm going to think twice about it. I don't care what they're called.

On the other hand, for 99% of undo requests, adding the turn wouldn't tell us anything useful. Maybe include it for requests that go back more than one turn?

(I think I've requested this before, but that was a long time ago. I will try to frame it here as simply as possible)

When you finish a game against someone, both players have a choice which can be simplified to "Do I want to play another game against this person right now?"

If the answer is 'yes', they click 'Ready'

If the answer is 'no', they leave the table.

Given this decision, it's a bit awkward when, after one player leaves the table, both players get matched up again. If both players wanted to play again, they would have done so without the matching system's "help".

Could you add a constraint to the matching system to avoid choosing the last opponent?

Cave,
Is your point that you would like to see an extra minute added to the time (via the snooze button), or, that you would like to see, essentially, an "only one minute left b/f DQ" warning, and that--with this--you'd be fine leaving it at its current length of time?  I would not mind that second choice at all, with an auditory signal as well.

The former: one additional minute added. I'd like to give people I know a chance to reconnect or whatever; and this would let me know how much extra time i've given them.

I wouldn't mind having a "snooze" button that added 1 minute or so to the timer.

This is also confusing to me, and I like your suggestion.

I don't think you can. But I wouldn't call it misleading. It presents you with the 2 real options you have: Gain a Gold, or gain nothing. It's doing part of the work you'd have to do in an IRL game (remembering which cards where gained), and not communicating to you why there is this 'Gain nothing' option.

I'd say it could be called misleading (even though it would be technically correct) when it apparently gave you the option to gain a Will-O'-Wisp, and if you wanted to take it, and it said "Fooled you, you can't gain it!".

That behavior is inconsistent with other "failed gaining" behavior in the game. For example, Pilgrimage will let you pick non-supply cards, such as "upgraded" travelers and heirlooms.

This also means you can call Royal Carriage to play a Crown again during your Buy phase.

I don't know if this is a bug or not, or maybe just a quirk.
When you play black market, you can play your treasures. If you play a crown as one of the treasures, you can use it as a throne room to play another action in the middle of the black market action, even if you have no actions remaining. That doesn't seem right, since you were playing the crown as a treasure.
See turn 18 of #14360895 to see my doing that against Lord Rattington.

Is this the intention of the Donald ? The wording of the card would suggest it's permitted, but it seems that the intention was that the top parts is "when played as an action" and the bottom is "When played as a treasure."

This is correct behavior. The only thing that defines how a Crown acts is the phase in which it is played. You'll get into trouble trying to divine the "intention" of the card. Just follow its instructions.

So if something lets you play a Treasure during your action phase, you follow the "Acton phase" part of Crown's instructions.

(Note that this also applies to playing Crown due to Storyteller)

Agree. This would be a huge improvement to the Undo system.

My opinion is informed by me buying the "lifetime" subscription at the old site just a (relatively) short while before the old site went out of business.  If I had bought this subscription several years earlier, then I'd probably feel I got fair value for my money.  But I didn't, so I don't...if that makes any sense.  :)

Thanks for the respectful counter-response. Sadly a rarity these days when people disagree. I can certainly appreciate that sentiment. I'd like to think that Goko/whoever selling people a "lifetime subscription" to a service they didn't have "lifetime rights" to was done in good faith, but I kind of doubt it. They were either con artists or inept or some combination of both.

Maybe someone could track down this guy and ask him how the business model was supposed to work.

Permanent ownership of sets

Almost no one on this site will disagree with you.  It's a bit of a ripoff as it is.  But it's the only game in town, so they are able to take advantage of that situation.  Ah well.  I am surprised that they decided to not have two tiers...here's the cost for one year of use of Expansion X.  And for twice that cost, you have a lifetime of access to that expansion--AS LONG AS we own the online rights to the game, of course.

I certainly disagree with this.

I like being able to play Dominion online. I like it enough that I'm willing to pay to keep the lights on and to see new cards added and new features developed.
I don't know if the current business model is the best one, but it seems more sustainable than one without a consistent revenue stream.

I don't think we need an elaborate messaging platform. Maybe just a way to "ping" a friend to see if they're there or AFK?

I just noticed that this was updated to "Trash & Gain".

Thanks!
