...which should of course read "Gain an Idol"

I'd say never take an immediate resignation as personal - I don't see how it can be unless someone took exception to your username (someone did tell me once that due to the blue colour of the font they'd misread mine as "blamejews" !!!! I was rather mortified...)

Or *maybe* they've seen your rating and resign for that reason (although of course the range of relative ratings can be selected in the matching options...)

But other than that... unless they've played you before they've nothing else to go on...

Seems far more likely to me that it's people not liking the look of the kingdom cards, (and if you've a higher subscription than them, the kingdom may contain lots of cards they're unfamiliar with...) so I'd generally just chalk it up - I'd prefer an immediate resignation than someone backing out mid-game...

As for in game chat, I almost always greet a player and mostly say "gg" afterwards (unless I feel I've played very badly, when I tend not to...)

The amount of chat in between varies a lot depending on my mood... I'd say there are three big factors in whether I'll be chattier - if something breaks the ice (like a good play, or another in game event); if the other player's playing really fast I'd tend to not feel I've time to chat, or if it's a second game with the same player then I'll tend to chat more... second games often lead to conversations... which is nice.

Some days I'm just in the mood to play with minimal human interaction :) But I do almost always reciprocate if someone else starts a conversation.

General Discussion / Re: Undo Request
28 December 2017, 05:23:12 AM
I for one don't always feel able to quickly see if an undo is after new information has been gained - and what helps a lot is if players asking an undo would post in chat why they'd like it....

I'm very glad the etiquette is that no one is ever obliged to offer an undo as it's too often the cause of rudeness when refused.

General Discussion / Thanks!

Hi,

just wanted to post, in a flush of festive-season goodwill, my thanks to Stef and everyone else at ShuffleIT for all your hard work in making Dominion playable online...

I've just got into this amazing game in the last year, and while the physical cards are great fun it's been through this site that I've truly learned to play. For a long time, this game held the exalted position of being my "favourite game I'm no good at" but now I think I've risen to the level of my own incompetence in the rankings, and now don't lose *every* time :)

So happy holidays etc to everyone, and thanks for all the hard work and continual improvements over the year... here's to next!

I recently stumbled across a box of 1st Edition Dominion in a gaming shop, and bought it with delight, because I'm:
a) a completist
b) an idiot

so I'd love to have the chance to play with the legacy cards for both those reasons... I appreciate that would and should be waaaay down the priority list, but it would be great bonus for a Gold subscriber and if there's a worry about diluting the utility of the 2nd gen cards perhaps legacy cards could be only be added to kingdoms via an option checkbox?

Thanks for replies. I have Bonnie Tyler singing "I need a hero" stuck in my head now. I have only myself to blame...

Hmm, thanks - fair enough - though as you say it's unintuitive...

Hi, I can't see when having more than one Champion might be useful (though as there always seem to be exceptions to everything in Dominion I'd love to hear if anyone knows of such a time...)

But given that for the most part one champion is enough, how about an option on the autoplay for Hero saying "exchange once" - so after you've exchanged one for a champion it reverts to default keep?

Thanks
