How does dominion.games decide which card to put on top of the discard pile?

The rules of Dominion say that during the clean-up phase, when putting the cards that are in play or in your hand in your discard pile, "The order does not matter; you can hide the cards from your hand under the played cards if you want to". And Dominion in general seems to be designed so that the order of cards in one's discard pile has no effect on gameplay.

But there has to be a card on the top of the discard pile, and it might have some subtle effects, such as telling or reminding other players about what cards you have, or the fact that they are in your discard pile, as opposed to your deck or your hand.

If I'm playing the physical card game, I can easily put the cards in my discard pile in whatever order I want.

But when I play on dominion.games, how does it decide which card to put on top? Is it random? Or according to some logic?
