this guy has spent over 3 minutes doing nothing over the game, and he still has over 3 minutes to play with each turn.

Timers give time back each turn and for each decision. It's a small amount, and 3 minutes doing nothing every turn wouldn't work.

If Patient in the extreme as done by your opponent is to slow for you, you may try Friendly. It's part of the default timing selection, so you should find players as easily as now when automatching.

it wasn't 3 minutes each turn. it was around 1:30 of doing nothing on 2 turns, plus a minute to even start the game
