Hello, I have investigated this issue and would like to confirm what is happening before designing a fix.
The guard to prevent non-friends from joining as spectators appears to be working, but this will not prevent non-friends from joining as a player if there is an open player slot at the table. Can you confirm if these non-friends are joining as players that you have to kick (rather than joining as spectators).

Yes, this will be fixed in the next release (should be a few weeks from now) to not launch you into a 1-player game if you have an opponent leave the table in the few seconds prior to you clicking ready.

Thanks for reporting. There was a release today that caused this issue with the old game not always getting cleaned up as it should when you searched for a new game very quickly after. It has been fixed now.
