What Goko/MF brought to the game when they took over is the feeling that you're actually playing with cards, rather than generating lines of text.

This is why I have stated that Blizzard's Hearthstone is THE benchmark here. It is the single most successful digital card game developed. It is available for both desktop (Mac and Win) and mobile (iOS and Android). It is smooth and clean, the design of everything in it is amazing. It is a fully intuitive UI and sets the bar for any other digital card games.

I did not expect the new release of Dominion to match Hearthstone...but I did expect it to at least match what MakingFun had done. I've stated this before the single biggest issue I see is that this new version of Dominion Online was "designed" by "developers" without any understanding of UDX. I say this as a professional designer and developer for the past 15 years in Financial Services. Sites and materials I have designed and developed have won industry awards on this...so I am not critiquing without any expertise here. I know I come across as harsh, but truly...the UI is HORRID. I saw another poster state it perfectly that this seems "amateur" that is exactly it.

Your benchmark is Hearthstone. end of story.

I am not a Hearthstone player, but it appears that they also initially launched without support for iOS and Android. At least if the Wikipedia page is accurate.

Actually it launches for desktop and iOS...it was delayed on Android.

And even the desktop version was in fact an app, not a browser based game. It was far more refined and polished even in the technical alpha than this is.

Again, my biggest critique...this is a UI designed clearly by developers NOT DESIGNERS. It is clunky and messy and is as far from anything a good UDX Designer would ever come up with.

I have plain and simple feedback:

Plain and simple, yes.  Constructive?  Not so much.  If you don't like it, fine, no one should criticize you for your preferences.  If you want things to change, describe the problem and suggest solutions.  If you don't care whether things change or not, stop wasting everyone's time.

It is constructive....the entire thing is junk. wipe the code and start over.

Sorry, phones aren't really supported yet. Dedicated mobile apps are planned.

I reminder, Safari is not merely a phone app. It is the primary browser for most Apple desktops. So if you launched this for web browser based desktop playing, you should be testing in IE, Chrome, Firefox, AND Safari.

If you do not want to support Safari, then state so on the main page of the website what your technical support structure is - which I currently have not seen. In fact, I would state the log in screen is absolutely a horrendous design with no useful information available.

My issue is not even in regards to promised vs. delivered. It is entirely around DELIVERED. The previous version of the product was playable on my device choices. This one is NOT.

It's like a car company choosing to replace their 4 door model sedan with an entirely new model and it being undrivable on my roads. Its unacceptable!

If ShuffleIt did not have a viable product ready to release and replace the existing one, then the existing one should have had their contract extended so as not to detract from my experience as the consumer.

Dedicated mobile apps are definitely planned.

A dedicated mobile app should have been NUMBER ONE ON YOUR LIST. This has to be the most short sighted and backwards development of a gaming app I've seen in forever. As the original poster pointed out perfectly...this is app development from the 1990's. This is horrid.

I have plain and simple feedback: everything about this game's development is complete crap. I can clearly see this was handled by developers with no sense of design experience put into the UI and flow of the game. I also feel this was a narrow and obtuse development process that considered only desktop windows users using Chrome or IE as the browser window.

MakingFun did not have the iOS/Android apps available right away either, but the game did function in Safari and Chrome on a mobile device (Phone or Tablet) quite well. Your game is UNPLAYABLE on any such device. Given the proliferation of iPhones and iPads, the sensible thing would have been to have that version developed first.

Your benchmark is Hearthstone. end of story. That is the game you needed to model your release and UI after and while perhaps not match the excellence that Blizzard has shown over the years in game development, you should have at least matched what makingFun had been able to do.

The dominion app had become my go to game. I doubt I will ever play this again it such a horrible release.
