General Discussion / Re: Friends list
14 January 2017, 11:36:01 AM
If you follow someone or are friends with someone, you can go to the "Matching" tab. There is a table visible. If friends of yours are online you can see them there with a status like "Logged in" or "At table (player/spectator)". If they are at a table there is a button to join them.

I think, it was said, that in the future it will also be possible to invite friends directly to game.

Support / Re: getting 80% base set cards

2 questions: I just started a New Table planning to play 2 bots from a chosen set of expansions (I have all, but have been playing lots of matches focused on Empires and Adventures and using 4 Events/Landmarks to help me learn the cards). I have all cards marked as familiar. Before I could finish choosing my Kingdom Cards someone joined the table and clicked Ready, then another person did the same. Thinking that since I was listed as the host I'd get a game with all cards I went ahead and clicked Ready starting the game. The last player to join didn't appear (Lord Rat did), so after a couple turns that player left. Log excerpt:
fiordos joined the table.
tagesvater126 joined the table.
Joining game #237233 on oregon.
tagesvater126 left the table.
fiordos left the table. (after the game ended - my add)

1. Why this timing issue and how do I prevent it in the future?
2. Why did I end up in an all base set game?

Here's an idea I'll throw out: until how exactly to implement familiar cards is worked out, why not flip it and default to all cards being familiar? In fact, why not flip the term "familiar cards" to "unfamiliar cards" entirely, and let those who want to restrict their card exposure choose to do so without hindering so many other games?

You can uncheck "Respect familiar cards" in the advanced settings of your table, I think.

Also I am against marking all cards as familiar as default. ;-)
Especially, if you haven't bought any expansions, it should not be the default that you know all the cards anyway.
I think, this problem will be solved in future releases in another way when Matching options are improved etc.

Interface Issues / Re: Easy way to cheat

I would hate for spectating mode to downgrade in any way.  It is super useful for matches that people want to spectate!

I think if people just want to turn off that their matches can be spectated, that is a good solution to the problem.

+1. It was really nice yesterday to watch the stream of the Dominion League Champion Match and see all the cards and hear the commentary. Not seing everything or just delayed would not have been as good.

General Discussion / Re: 2nd Edition Only?
08 January 2017, 04:00:03 PM
After finding out that 7 cards from both Base and Seaside were going to be removed, we set up a kingdom with 10 out of these 14 cards and it was fun. In the right (bad) kingdom they can be useful. ;)

I find the argument that many people actually don't own the second edition (and might never) and want to play the same game online and offline quite appealing. People who don't want to play with the first edition cards could just ban them from their games as an option in settings.

Feature Requests / Re: Sentry interface

I did and still sometimes do for a second until I remember how it works. If you don't know the interface it is really like "If I click confirm trashing will it trash my gold and silver?".

I had 9 cards in my deck (see screenshot), so the text better should read "shuffles an Inn back into their deck", shouldn't it? I guess if there hadn't been any cards in my deck "put back onto" would have been adequate.

Game #121352 on frankfurt, but I had it in other games as well.

Game #120605 on tokyo but it also happened to me in other games.
Computer specs: Windows 7, Firefox 45.6.0

Two treasuries were in play. In clean-up I was asked to topdeck/discard in a dialogue. I accidentally deselected topdeck because I wanted to choose it (I thought clicking it would do that which is also a bit intuitive) and then the Treasury and buttons completely vanished. It was possible to get it back by using the arrow but it took me a bit to understand that. People on discord say it is a bug, so this is the report.

See screenshot.

AI bugs / Re: Lord Rattington buys tournaments only

AI bugs / Lord Rattington buys tournaments only

Game #117019 on oregon.

Lord Rattington buys one silver and then only tournaments until the tournaments are empty. I guess, it's not supposed to be like this. This has happened before as well.

Haha, I would guess so, too.  :D It was a way of saying it also happens in bot games where the only relevant animation settings should be mine.  :)

Feature Requests / Re: Interface design suggestions

I can't remember the name of the card I was playing with.  It cost 5 coins and it allowed you to trash the 1st two cards on your deck or discard them.  I found the interface for that selection very confusing.  I am a computer programmer, so I have a bit of experience with interface design.

It highlights the cards in red and says "Confirm Trashing".  The problem with this is that you are afraid you will trash the cards if you click on "Confirm Trashing".  (especially since they are highlighted in red)

Please add buttons that says "Don't Trash" and "Don't Discard".  That would be much easier to unders

I think, you mean Sentry and I completely second that request.

Feature Requests / Repeat Kingdom
05 January 2017, 11:25:54 AM
I'd love it if there was an option to click "repeat kingdom" after a game and play the same kingdom again against a bot/a friend/someone who agrees to do that. Sometimes there is this "oh, I could have done it this way" moment and then it would be nice to just click that button after a game and try a new way.

How to Play / Re: Dominion Online Unofficial FAQ

Maybe add a link to their profiles/email if you mention people should contact Stef or Philip. People might not know who they are or how to contact them.

Otherwise, great post! :)

i think it figures there is no way for someone else to win so sometimes it will cut straight to the scoreboard. I agree it is frustrating because i like to actually see the last victory card bought or 3 piles go out etc. At least that is what i think it is doing...who knows though for sure.

The game doesn't end prematurely. What is probably happening is that your opponent is playing with "wait for animations" off and thus finishes their turn before you finish seeing animations.

Does the bot also play with "wait for animations" off? Because there it happens as well. Also: shouldn't I see the animations even if my opponent doesn't?
