I agree completely. How the new interface handles 3+ player games is why I haven't renewed my subscription and I would love feedback either from official sources on why this change was made or from any other players who use it and like it better.

There were a lot of complaints, so after some months it was changed to block Gold. One has to guess that there was maybe some reason they didn't choose what would appear to be the more logical and functional option of Province.
One of the many shortcomings of Lord Rat is that he always chooses Gold. He has to choose something for the game to continue, and analyzing the game state to find the best choice was maybe deemed to complicated or not worth it at the time of creation. So it is stuck at that, unfortunately.
Quote from: markus on 12 September 2019, 07:15:16 PMIsn't there a little more to it as well? For example, say you had 1 Peddler in hand and played it, drawing another Peddler. Before, your new Peddler would appear on the left end of your hand just as would any other unique card drawn. Now, your new Peddler would appear in the same slot as the old one, a change.
They are sorted now as Actions, Treasures, Victory cards.
Quote from: Stef on 10 September 2019, 01:24:56 PMYeah, that's my approach -- thinking not just about turn 1&2, but making my game plan. Thanks so much for replying.
I take more then a minute on turn one very often. Having $4 does not imply you have to buy one of the $4 costs at all. And besides, it's a really good time to think about the entire kingdom/game, and have a plan for that.
Quote from: crude on 08 September 2019, 10:15:25 AMJust wondering: do you get a lot of complaints when you take so much time studying the initial board? One thing that scared me off of playing real people before the rating system barely started was the constant complaining if I'd take even 30 seconds before making my first move. I can't imagine what I'd get after 3 minutes. And what if you need to take some time on a move further into a game? Have you ever told someone who complained "Go ahead and blacklist me if you like. I prefer to take the time to play smartly"? Thanks.
First I'd recommend playing slower and thinking more... I'd especially recommend thinking more on turn 1, probably a minute minimum, and up to 3 minutes on complicated boards, even if you play very briskly from then on.
Quote from: davidcornell on 01 September 2018, 06:45:42 PMWelcome to the forums! Unfortunately, this is not a bug and is a function of the current AI being oxvmoronic at its core (that is, being innately deficient in "intelligence"). See the section in the sticky post at the top of this sub-forum on "clearly stupid plays". The AI will not buy a free copper, so don't hold your breath on that one. An improved AI is being worked on they say, but it appears at this point they've decided to at least largely finish the project before implementing it instead of rolling out any more improvements a little at a time.
I just played against the Bot #17887174 on oregon.
It discards several Coppers and Estates, got down to 3 cards, and refused to buy a FREE Copper to build up its hand.
Quote from: josh bornstein on 31 July 2018, 09:05:13 PMNo, the number for the current game is the bottom number on that list. Each time you start a game the new game number (and server) are printed on a new line below the previous one.
When the game gives a long list of game numbers (on my home desktop monitor, on the far lower-right corner of the screen), it's the very top number on that list, right? That's the number for the current game, yes?
